While July may be over there is still lots of flip flop weather ahead of us. With that in mind I thought I’d share a few of my favourite nail polishes to use for a summer pedicure! I like choosing colours that are fun but will go with as many of my outfits as possible. My picks are all quite different from each other but they are the ones I go back to frequently! It’s been a long time since I’ve featured a manicure on the blog! I think the last one I posted was way back in June!! This one is actually from a few weeks ago as I got sick around the time I had planned on posting it. This grey ombre manicure was inspired by a manicure I saw on Pinterest years ago and have recreated multiple times since. This time I added the chevron accent nail to add a little something extra. I love the way a chevron accent looks on the nails! It’s such a cute way to add a little something-something. Continue reading
Though spring briefly looked like it was going to make an appearance in Thunder Bay before it went running for the hills. But, even though the cold and snow has returned I’m sporting a spring polkadot manicure anyways. For this manicure I used one of my new favourite formulas, Essie Gel Couture, as a base and then used some colourful shades to add some polkadots to the manicure.
It’s been awhile since the last time I shared a manicure with you guys! My nails have been a mess lately so for awhile I was babying them with just OPI Nail Envy getting them back up to their regular strength. On top of that, my hands have been so dry this winter! However, I couldn’t pass up on posting a Valentine’s Day manicure. For today’s manicure I’m finally trying out YSL Catch Me Fuchsia which I won last year in a giveaway. To spice things up I also added OPI Devine Swine as an accent which I think is really eye catching as well. Continue reading
The OPI Skyfall Collection is certainly nothing new, in fact, it was the holiday collection in 2012. However, I saw an old photo of a manicure that I had done back then that I wanted to re-create/enhance. This was the beautiful combination that is OPI Skyfall and OPI The Man with the Golden Gun. Just for fun, I decided to throw in a little OPI Goldeneye as well. OPI The Man With the Golden Gun will always have a special place in my heart as one of my best friends gave it to me back in 2012 as a birthday gift ❤️
As you can see OPI Skyfall is a beautiful oxblood colour that pairs perfectly with gold. The OPI Man with the Golden Gun 18k gold fleck top coat looks like it was made for it! I decided to also add in a chevron accent using OPI Goldeneye which I think makes this manicure even better! Continue reading
Hi guys! Today’s Mani Monday is completely inspired by my urge to have something vampy on my nails. It’s like for every few bright or pastel manicures I do, I have to then do something dark. Anyways, today I decided to use OPI I Brake for Manicures from the Fall 2011 Touring America Collection. I’ve had this shade since it initially launched and have worn it a few times. What I love about it is that it has a grey quality to it which makes it a bit more unique than your typical dark plum shade.

Hi guys! This is one of those times I wish I did my nails on Saturdays. As usual, I did my nails Sunday night which means that I don’t photograph them until Monday (I’m a procrastinator when it comes to my nails). I like getting all the things that I need to get done that could mess up a manicure done before I start painting. Anyways, little did I know that I would wake up with a raging cold this morning. It took several naps to muster up the energy to take this photo and write this post but, I did it! Normally I would just skip Mani Monday but considering Canada turns 150 this week, this manicure is special to me. No matter what, I’m always rocking a red and white manicure all week leading up to Canada Day so I couldn’t miss sharing this one with you. I kept this Canada Day manicure pretty simple as I did this later in the evening last night so I decided to do a white accent with red sparkles to add some flair to my nails.

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday and this week, I felt like doing some simple nail art. To add a bit of fun to this beautiful teal manicure, I added in layered polka dots. Any time I do a look like this I’m pleased with the results and thankfully it doesn’t take long to achieve. Polka dots always make me so happy when I glance down and see them on my nails! For my base shade I used OPI Amazon Amazoff which is from the 2014 Brazil Collection and appears to still be available as it was rolled into the regular lineup.

Hi guys! I don’t know about you but when summer starts peaking around the corner all I want to do is throw a holographic top coat on everything. I’ve been meaning to do this manicure for a few weeks now and week after week I’ve ended up sporting bare nails for whatever reason. Anyways, for this manicure I’ve busted out Girly Bits Hocus Pocus. It’s a beautiful holographic layering polish and, bonus, it’s from a Canadian company! Definitely perfect for a Mani Monday! I’ve had this in my collection for a few years now but it is still available currently.
Hi guys! After a couple of weeks of bare nails, I took the time to paint them last night and do a bit of light nail art! I’m pretty much out of my regular base and top coats and haven’t gotten around to ordering more yet so I’ve been sticking to the Essence Gel Nail Polish a lot lately. Today I’ve got Essence Amazed By You on my nails with some fun light purple polkadots. For the polkadots I am using OPI I’m Gown for Anything. Since I’m obsessed with all things purple, I’ve pretty much been staring at my fingers all day. It may have lowered my productivity just a tad if I’m being honest. Continue reading
