I picked up the Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions late last year because well… it’s purple! I’d been wanting to try Huda Beauty eyeshadows for awhile so I thought I would start with one of her smaller ones before diving right in. So let’s take a closer look at this palette, shall we?

Palette Spotlight: Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 – Colour 1
It’s always so hard to choose which palette to swatch and chat about for Palette Spotlight but today I thought I’d grab the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 in Colour 1. I wish her smaller palettes had better names because it’s not fun to just simply say “Colour 1”. Oh well. I purchased this a few years ago during one of the VIB sales because I don’t think I would ever pay full price for one of her palettes. Their prices are absolutely insane. However, curiosity got the best of me and I had to try one.
Palette Spotlight: Kat Von D Shade + Light Eyeshadow Palette
Today’s palette spotlight focuses on an oldie but a goodie. Unlike last week’s rainbow palette, today I’ve got a more neutral staple of a palette for you – the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eyeshadow Palette. Filled with neutral mattes this palette is perfect on it’s own or used in addition to a palette that is perhaps lacking some neutral matte shades for transition, adding definition, etc.
Palette Spotlight: Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette
Since NaBloPoMo is currently underway I thought I’d bring back my Palette Spotlight series. These posts are a quick glimpse at one of the palettes in my collection along with swatches. My intention has always been to work my way through my palette collection but I always struggle to choose which one to write about next. I like picking the brands at random to keep it interesting so it isn’t all one for any particular period of time…
Anyways, today we are looking at the Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette. I’ve had this palette since the spring and although I’m quite enamoured with it I can tell you right now it does not get enough use. I absolutely LOVE the colour selection in this palette, it is so bright and colourful! Continue reading
Palette Spotlight: Kat Von D Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette
Though the Kat Von D Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette has been discontinued, it is still one of my favourite palettes to use. Since I posted a purple manicure yesterday for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, I thought I’d continue the theme and post about my favourite purple palette today. The Kat Von D Innerstellar Eyeshadow Palette was a limited edition, cool-toned palette that launched in 2014. Though it had mixed reviews, I personally haven’t had any issues with it and deeply adore it.
The packaging of this palette was well-suited for it’s name as it has a very intergalactic feel to it. It also had the classic cardboard packaging that Kat Von D’s eyeshadow palettes at the time were sporting. I quite like this packaging personally. Its sleek and easy to store. I just wish the eyeshadow names were on the inside, not on the bottom. Continue reading
Palette Spotlight: Morphe 9B Palette
I’ve had the Morphe 9B Palette since the start of the year but I haven’t really talked about it much here on the blog. With that said, I thought it would be a perfect choice for my next Palette Spotlight post. I may typically hoard eye shadow palettes, but I do have a few other types, such as blush, as well!
The Morphe 9B Palette leans rather warm, but it has a little something in it for a variety of makeup looks! It contains both matte and shimmer shades which adds to the variety. There are ore mattes than shimmers, which I tend to prefer from a blush anyhow. I would say that my favourite shade in this palette is probably the first on the second row. I do wish that Morphe normally named their shades, or at least numbered them to make it easier to blog about them! Blogger problems, am I right? Continue reading
Palette Spotlight: Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette
In continuation with NaBloPoMo I thought it would be fun to dedicate Tuesday’s this month to a different palette. Considering I am a palette junkie this in a little dive into my collection. I’ve been thinking about doing this for awhile as I’ve been asked to do a post (or posts) on it. If all goes well, I’ll continue to work through my ever-growing collection until I hit the end (is there ever an end?!). To start off though, I’ll go through ones that I’m pretty sure I haven’t done a dedicated post on in the past. So, today I’m starting off with the Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette. I picked this beauty up in August but haven’t previously featured it on the blog.
The Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette is a transformer palette that can be used on the eyes, lips and face. It definitely holds true to being multipurpose as I have used it in all three ways so far. While it isn’t truly holographic (why do brands so loosely use this term?!), all four shades have a beautiful shift to them. They all look nearly white in the pan, but when they catch the light their true pigmentation shines through. Continue reading
