With each new season it’s fun to look through my makeup collection and think about which lipsticks I think will define the next few months. Spring typically inspires us to start wearing brighter colours (even when the forecast is still a bit cold and snowy) so it’s no surprise that it’s a common theme with my top 5 choices for spring lipsticks this year. “Realistic” Spring Makeup Look
Spring is a season that seems to be associated with bright colours, flowers and the grass finally turning green. However, here in Thunder Bay the reality is grey snow banks, possibly more snow and slightly warmer temperatures. The green grass and bright colours don’t come until much later… usually RIGHT before summer temperatures hit. So, I thought today I’d share a makeup look that reminds me more of the spring that I experience so I’ve used darker cool tones with a pop of brightness. Continue reading
Top 5: Spring Picks 2018
Though the calendar says it’s spring, we still have quite a bit of snow in Thunder Bay as well as some chilly mornings. Nonetheless, since it is technically spring, I thought I’d share 5 items that are bring me more into a ‘spring’ state of mind! They are all bright and cheery which is exactly what I reach for to get me out of the darkness that I associate with winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the vampy makeup that I reach for more during the winter, but I am ready for some change! Continue reading
MOTD: Spring & Summer Picks
Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a MOTD post and I thought it would be fun to showcase some of my picks from last week’s Top 5: Spring & Summer Picks post! I had meant to do this look over the weekend, however, I had one of those barely leave the house/minimal makeup weekends. I think we all need a few of those! It was very relaxing! Anyways, I was able to make time for a mini photoshoot before work so here we go!
Top 5: Spring & Summer Picks
Hi guys! With spring making it’s way into Thunder Bay, I’ve been really inspired to start blogging about my favourite products for the season. Since spring is pretty much a gateway to summer, I start busting out the bright colours on a regular basis. I don’t really believe in seasonal colours, but I think the nicer weather makes me feel more bright and cheery and then this in turn is reflected in my overall style.
Nars | Audacious Lipstick in Angela
I’ve had Angela for a couple of years now and I always seem to bust her out when spring starts up. The pink orchid shade really reminds me of fresh flowers starting to bloom! Though we don’t have a lot of that going on right now in Thunder Bay (thank you epic April ice storm), I’m hopeful we will start seeing some blossoms soon! The Audacious Lipstick formula pigmented demi-matte formula that I find wears really well on the lips. Continue reading
Spring Makeup Look Featuring Urban Decay Deep End
Hi guys! Though the weather once again isn’t suggesting it this morning, I thought I’d share with you the spring makeup look that I wore yesterday. For this look I decided to bust out my Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette and accent it with Urban Decay Deep End 24/7 Eye Liner. I’ve had Urban Decay Deep End for a few months now but this is the first time I’ve felt springy enough to wear it. It really is quite beautiful and I think it looks so great in the water line. I don’t usually wear a teal or blue look all over my eyes but I like just a pop of it on my eyes. All over blue looks fantastic on so many people, but I think it clashes with my green eyes.
Mani Monday: Essence Indian Summer
Hi guys! My nails have been bare for far too long and I finally have gotten around to painting them again! Although the weather currently isn’t suggesting it, it has been much nicer outside lately so I wanted something springy on my nails. I also wanted something that would stand up to chips, so I decided to use one of my Essence ‘gel’ polishes. Thus, we have Essence Indian Summer on my nails! A beautiful peachy coral shade. I have a couple polishes from this line and I’ve been enjoying them. I’ve featured one to date in a Mani Monday. The last one I wore had really great wear time so the bar has been set for this one. Continue reading
Bright Spring/Easter Look
Hi guys! In the spirit of it being Easter weekend I thought it would be fun to do a bright Spring look and add a video! I’ve been seeing so much turquoise lately so the main goal was to incorporate a little bit into a look.
Mani Monday: Spring/Easter
Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday and today I’ve done a Spring/Easter theme. Although we got a ton of snow last week, I am ready for spring so I decided to use some pastel shades and added some polkadots in the mix.
Products Used:
OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts (2 coats plus polka dots)
OPI Do You Lilac It? (2 coats plus polka dots)
OPI Polka.com (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat)
I am really happy with how this turned out, I love combining grey with a purple pastel. The colours compliment each other so well.
What do you have on your nails today? Let me know in the comments down below!
xoxo,
Robyn
