Summer Pedicure Picks

Summer Pedicure Picks

While July may be over there is still lots of flip flop weather ahead of us. With that in mind I thought I’d share a few of my favourite nail polishes to use for a summer pedicure! I like choosing colours that are fun but will go with as many of my outfits as possible. My picks are all quite different from each other but they are the ones I go back to frequently! Travel Recap: Wisconsin Dells

Wisconsin Dells

Hi guys! Last weekend I went to the Wisconsin Dells for the first time with my husband and two of my best friends. The Wisconsin Dells is a small city in Wisconsin that proclaims to be the waterpark capital of the world. I would say it definitely delivers on the waterparks! From Thunder Bay (where I am located) it is about a 8.5 hour drive. Most of the resorts seem to have indoor and outdoor parks so it is a travel destination you could enjoy all year round. Summer of course is the peak season for their tourism.

In order to get the most out of our trip we left at 4:00 AM to ensure we got to the resort early enough to enjoy a full afternoon there as we were only staying two nights. If I did this again, I would probably leave one evening earlier and stay at a midway point (ie. Duluth, MN) but waking up early wasn’t that bad. I was pretty excited so it wasn’t all that difficult getting out of bed.

July Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

July 2017 Favourites

Hi guys! July is coming to a close so with that brings my monthly round up of favourites. Though my weekends were quite minimal when it came to makeup, I did play with makeup more on week days. I’d say overall it was a pretty balanced month. Between some new makeup coming into my life and knocking my socks off and focusing on skincare I think I have a pretty well rounded favourites today!

Morphe | The Jaclyn Hill Palette

Morphe x The Jaclyn Hill Palette

I’ve done two posts on this palette this month, a first impressions and then one with five makeup looks using this palette. With that said, I’m still in love with it and I am still continuing to use it over other palettes in my collection. I feel like between this palette and the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette, I have found the palettes that will dominate my summer. The possibilities with this palette are really quite endless. It is a bit pricy to ship to Canada, but honestly with the size of this palette and the quality of the shadow, it’s quite comparable to an oversized palette that you would spend a similar amount on at Sephora. The Jaclyn Hill Palette is currently sold out but is set to return in August.

Buxom | Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly

Another gloss in my favourites?! Who am I?! I had a gloss in my favourites last month and here we are again. I won this mini gloss in a giveaway that Pretty Ruff Life put on quite a few months ago and I’ve started to use it more now that the Becca gloss opened my mind up. I really love this formula! It isn’t sticky, it has a fun tingle and it is great for keeping in my purse. It’s definitely an every day shade so it goes with whatever makeup (or lack of makeup) I happen to have on. MOTD: Spring & Summer Picks

Spring & Summer Picks

Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a MOTD post and I thought it would be fun to showcase some of my picks from last week’s Top 5: Spring & Summer Picks post! I had meant to do this look over the weekend, however, I had one of those barely leave the house/minimal makeup weekends. I think we all need a few of those! It was very relaxing! Anyways, I was able to make time for a mini photoshoot before work so here we go!

Top 5: Spring & Summer Picks

Top 5 Spring Summer Picks

Hi guys! With spring making it’s way into Thunder Bay, I’ve been really inspired to start blogging about my favourite products for the season. Since spring is pretty much a gateway to summer, I start busting out the bright colours on a regular basis. I don’t really believe in seasonal colours, but I think the nicer weather makes me feel more bright and cheery and then this in turn is reflected in my overall style.

Nars | Audacious Lipstick in Angela

NARS Audacious Lipstick Angela

I’ve had Angela for a couple of years now and I always seem to bust her out when spring starts up. The pink orchid shade really reminds me of fresh flowers starting to bloom! Though we don’t have a lot of that going on right now in Thunder Bay (thank you epic April ice storm), I’m hopeful we will start seeing some blossoms soon! The Audacious Lipstick formula pigmented demi-matte formula that I find wears really well on the lips. Continue reading

Vichy Idéal Soleil

Hi guys! Vichy Canada & Chick Advisor were kind enough to send me three products from the Idéal Soleil line to test and review. Given that I spend quite a bit of time outside in the summer, I was really excited to give these a try! Sun care should be a priority during these hot summer months so finding products that you enjoy using is a must.

Vichy | Ultra-Light Lotion SPF50

The first product that I tried was the facial lotion. It has a very light and runny texture, but it absorbs immediately into the skin. Moments after applying it I felt my face and I couldn’t even tell that I had even put any on. It didn’t feel greasy or anything on the face so I was able to apply makeup over it with no issue. My makeup wore the same as it would any other day. Continue reading
