Hi guys! In my quest to try out more face masks, the next once I’ve tried is the Sephora Avocado Sheet Mask. I received this item complimentary from Sephora as part of an invitation to their local launch party last month. I was pretty excited to see this item was sent as I frequently put it in my cart and then end up taking it out. Does anyone else do that? I’m so indecisive. Anyways, I love avocados so why not put them on my face?
I started off with a clean face (first image) and place it on my face (second image). I left it on for about 15 minute as the packaging suggested. Based on the Sephora website this mask is said to “[Nurture] and [support] healthy skin by offering intense nutrition and relieving sensitive areas.” After removing the mask there was some serum left on my face (third photo), though there wasn’t a ton which leads me to believe my face absorbed most of it. My face did feel slightly sticky for a little while after use.
My face definitely felt more nourished and softer after using this. I can’t really speak for how it impacted my normal oiliness as I put on sunscreen shortly after which usually leaves me looking greasier than normal all on it’s own.
Overall, I probably would buy one the Sephora Avocado Sheet Mask to use it again. But, as they retail for $8.00CAD per mask, I would probably wait for a VIB sale or something and grab a few different masks. I’m interested to see how it compares to some similar masks I’ve recently purchased that were about $5.00USD.
Do you have a favourite sheet mask? Let me know in the comments down below!

Robyn

This product was sent to me complimentary however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I tried my first Sephora sheet mask last month and I wasn’t wow’d (it was the rose version). For $8 I expected more in terms of mask material and effect on my skin. You can get really good masks for less than $2 these days! I really like the Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air masks – they’re only available online though… but they cost $2!

I’ve definitely been more into masking lately so I’ll have to check those masks out! I probably wouldn’t shell out $8 for a mask (but maybe I’d pick some up during a VIB sale), but you’re right there are so many less expensive alternatives out there!

If you want something to deal with oiliness, try the green tea one (mattifying & anti-blemish). I like that one a lot and it actually works. Or try the charcoal ones from The Creme Shop (you might be able to find them at Winners… in the States I get them at TJ Maxx or Marshalls). Those work good too and they come in a pack of 5 masks for $5.99 US.

Oh thanks! I can’t remember if I’ve tried the Green Tea one but I’ll definitely check it out. I think I picked up a charcoal one the last time I was in the states but I’m completely blanking on if I just looked at it or if I picked one up. I’ve been to the States a lot this summer so it’s all blending together, haha

I’ve only tried the Pomegranate mask from this line! It made my skin bumpy and red so I think there was something in it my skin didn’t agree with! It’s the only sheet mask that’s ever done that to me lol. So I’m a little hesitant to try more! Although I do really want to try the Green Tea one! I agree they are a bit pricey at $8 a piece. I like to get mine at The Face Shop. They always have cheap ones that are good too!

Yeah they are definitely pricier than other sheet masks. They seem like one of those things to pick up during one of their sales or in a value set.
