Fall Trends: Mixed Mattes & Metallics

Fall Trends Mixed Mattes Metallics

Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a fall trends post but today I wanted to share with you the mixed mattes and metallics trend for this fall! I did do a post last week about the Kat Von D MetalMatte Palette showing you seven different looks with it, but I saved today’s look for this post as it is more of a stark contrast between the two finishes.

I love browsing the internet for trends, not necessarily because I follow them, but I love to look at them and consider how do-able they are for the everyday person. My mind will start interpreting them into inspiration and I’ll start thinking about how I can translate this. Considering I recently purchased the Kat Von D MetalMatte Palette I knew this was one of the fall trends that I had to do an interpretation of here! You could of course mimic this with any matte and metallic shades you have in your collection. The beauty of this trend is it is really open-ended, you could mix the finishes in any way and use any colours.

Transition: Fringe
Crease: Ribbon
Lid: Silk
Outer-V: Ribbon
Under-Eye: Volt & Tinsel
Blush: Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Fetish
Highlight: Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Charming Pink
Lip: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Eggplant

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. My goal was to have a darker crease but soften it into the lighter purple. I am loving the pop of metallic under the eye too. As far as fall trends go, I think this is quite wearable and I would wear this again for sure.

Do you follow fall trends at all? Let me know which ones you’ve had your eye on in the comments below!

xoxo,

Robyn

    • Oooh that would make for a beautiful matte look!

I’m not sure if my commentluv isn’t working, but, are you commenting from mobile? You need to comment so that the actual comment form shows up, and then put your blog URL in, then it should pull your most recent post, or sometimes it gives you options and you select the one you want. But, I’m also not sure if it just isn’t working because I can’t see it the same way my readers see it since I’m logged in… if that makes sense?

  1. Love the look you created with that palette! I keep hearing rave reviews on that thing and I’m trying to convince myself I don’t need it. I think I’m going to step away from palettes and try and fill up my Z palette with singles though. 🙂

    • Thanks! It’s definitely an amazing palette! My z palette is so neglected someday if palettes ever stop tempting me my plan is to fill it up too!
