Well over a month ago the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection finally launched after a controversial delay due to quality control issues. I debated whether or not to jump on board when the collection finally did launch but, controversial or not, I enjoy Jaclyn’s videos and I enjoyed the selection of colours in the palettes. My blog had also just turned 3 so I decided to treat myself. Rather than talking about all four at the same time I thought I’d break them up a bit so today we are going to take a look at Bling Boss and Ring the Alarm. Keep reading for swatches and a makeup look from each palette!
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection | Bling Boss
Of course the purple toned palette caught my eye right away. No surprises there! This palette contains both matte and shimmer shades. I had heard there are still a few people complaining of patchiness with the mattes but I didn’t experience any issues. I always use a primer and always set it with a translucent powder so I’m not sure if that helped. I find mattes easier to blend when they have something to blend into.

I was trying to go for a bit of a cut crease here. I find my camera picked it up a but more harsh than it really was. But I loved how it looked in person!
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection | Ring the Alarm
Considering the time of year I also was immediately drawn to Ring the Alarm as the shade remind me of a beautiful fall day. This one contains more mattes than shimmers but I like that as I enjoy blending warm mattes to create more of a sunset type of vibe. I did have a bit of trouble blending the shade Rush at first but it wasn’t anything that was unmanageable.

I love this combination of colours, especially with a warm lip colour! I believe I’m wearing Bite Beauty’s Hot Harissa in this one!
