Mani Monday

Hi guys! It’s time for another Mani Monday! Today I wanted to do something bright and spring-y. I’ve had this colour combination in my head for awhile, it was just a matter of deciding how I wanted to combine them. I was going to do a water marble, but, due to time constraints, I decided to do a saran wrap manicure instead. For those of you who don’t know, a saran wrap manicure involves painting the base shade and letting it completely dry. Then you add a second shade over top (one finger at a time) in which you quickly dab with a bunched up piece of saran wrap.

Products Used:

OPI Nail Envy in Original (1 coat)
Zoya Lara (1 coat)
Zoya Arizona (1 coat)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat (1 coat after applying Lara and 1 coat after applying Arizona)

Applying Zoya nail polishes is always such a joy. They are so creamy and pigmented. I feel like they just roll themselves onto the nails. I need to add more Zoya polishes to my collection.

Mani Monday

P1020551.jpg

Hi guys! It’s Monday again so it’s time to share my manicure of the week! I was feeling really uninspired when I was sifting through my nail polish collection trying to figure out what to wear this week. Although I’m usually drawn to purples I feel like I’ve worn a lot of those lately. Red is generally outside of my comfort zone when it comes to nail polish. For some reason, despite owning many red nail polishes, I don’t like wearing them. So, I thought I would switch it up and wear a red! I chose OPI’s Smoke’n in Havana. The photo doesn’t pick it up very well but this one has a hint of coral to it. I actually like the way it looks on my nails, to my surprise! It also applied very nice and evenly.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy in Original (1 coat)
OPI Smoke’n in Havana (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top-Coat (1 coat)

Mani Monday

P1020523.jpg

Hi guys! After missing Mani Monday last week, I’m back to share another manicure with you! I’ve said this a few time now, but I’ve been drawn to bright colours. I think I’m trying to compensate for the dreary/cold/snowy spring we have had here so far. Zoya’s Robyn is one of my go-to bright blue polishes. I absolutely love this polish. Not just because of the name, but it is smooth and is really close to being a one-coater. I probably could get away with just one coat if I was in a rush. I’ve found this to be the case with most of the Zoya polishes that I own. They are just incredible to apply and they wear really well too.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy in Original (1 coat)
Zoya Robyn (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top-Coat (1 coat)

Mani Monday: Spring/Easter

P1020481.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday and today I’ve done a Spring/Easter theme. Although we got a ton of snow last week, I am ready for spring so I decided to use some pastel shades and added some polkadots in the mix.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts (2 coats plus polka dots)
OPI Do You Lilac It? (2 coats plus polka dots)
OPI Polka.com (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat)

I am really happy with how this turned out, I love combining grey with a purple pastel. The colours compliment each other so well.

Mani Monday: St. Patrick’s Day Edition

P1020444.jpg

Hi guys! I don’t really go out of my way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day, but I do partake in the tradition of wearing green and I usually incorporate it into that week’s manicure. This year I didn’t really feel like going too fancy, as it is hard to paint your nails when there are four dogs in the house (2 of my own, dog-sitting 2) so I went pretty basic and did green with a gold accent nail.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window (2 coats on all fingers except ring fingers)
OPI Goldeneye (3 coats on ring fingers only)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat) Continue reading

Mani Monday

P1020405.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday! I feel like I’m getting more inspired to paint my nails again. There was awhile where my nails were in such bad shape that I just didn’t enjoy it. Everything was chipping because of how much my nails were peeling. They still need a bit more TLC but I think they are improving. Plus, I’m keeping them shorter, or at least trying to. They grow so fast!! Continue reading

Mani Monday

P1020347

Hi guys! Welcome back to another Mani Monday! I think I finally have my nail polishing groove back. There was awhile there were I just looked at my nails and felt uninspired. But lately I have been really craving dark purple vampy nails. I was going to do my go-to which is OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark but I decided to bust out Siberian Nights which is a touch lighter and a bit more purple.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original Formula (1 coat)
OPI Siberian Nights (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat)

Mani Monday

P1020286

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday! Last week I included the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure shade Commander in Chic in my Drugstore Haul. I didn’t wait too long before putting this beautiful polish on my nails. It’s such a unique purple/brown/grey colour. It looks just as beautiful on the nails as it looked in the bottle.

Products Used:

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat (1 coat)

My only complaint with the last polish I used from this line was that it look forever to feel completely dry. Due to that I kept denting and ruining the polish while I was waiting for it to dry. This time I put a fast drying top coat on in hopes to fix that. It did help with the dry time but I noticed on my right hand (not pictured) the polish looked like it shrunk quite a bit at the tips. I’m thinking I either didn’t top coat fast enough, or I didn’t wrap the tips well enough. It was a bit weird! It didn’t look that bad though so I just left it be. Other than that, I’m much happier with the dry time and I’ve had it on for about 4 days now and just have minimal chipping. Most of which is on my right hand.

Mani Monday

P1020116.jpg

Hi guys! It’s time for another Mani Monday post! After I removed the gel polish I was previously wearing I wanted something quick and easy to put on. I’ve had this polish for years but I never wear it, but today an all-in-one polish seemed appealing.

I found this polish needed to be built up to achieve opacity so I had to use three coats. Dry time was okay, but would have been faster if I had topped it off with a fast drying top coat. I never get good wear time out of Sally Hansen so I’m sure it will be off in a few days. I find the polishes that wear the best on me are OPI, Zoya and Cult Nails.

Products Used:

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Wet Clay (3 thin coats)
