Hi guys! This is one of those times I wish I did my nails on Saturdays. As usual, I did my nails Sunday night which means that I don’t photograph them until Monday (I’m a procrastinator when it comes to my nails). I like getting all the things that I need to get done that could mess up a manicure done before I start painting. Anyways, little did I know that I would wake up with a raging cold this morning. It took several naps to muster up the energy to take this photo and write this post but, I did it! Normally I would just skip Mani Monday but considering Canada turns 150 this week, this manicure is special to me. No matter what, I’m always rocking a red and white manicure all week leading up to Canada Day so I couldn’t miss sharing this one with you. I kept this Canada Day manicure pretty simple as I did this later in the evening last night so I decided to do a white accent with red sparkles to add some flair to my nails.
Products Used:
OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI Big Apple Red (1 coat)
OPI Alpine Snow (2 coats – accent nail)
OPI Minnie Style (2 coats – accent nail)
Cult Nails Wicked Fast Top Coat (1 coat)
This was my first time using OPI Big Apple Red and I was really impressed. I only needed one coat, though, my nails are quite short at the moment so it may require two if there was more of a smile line to cover. To complete this Canada Day manicure my accent nail consisted of my trusty white polish, Alpine Snow, topped with Minnie Style. I did find Minnie Style to be a bit gloopy but, I’m really impatient with chunky glitters like this so I find myself rushing in for a second coat too soon because the gaps in the first coat drive me a bit crazy. Anyways, it all turned out and I’m quite pleased with how this Canada Day manicure turned out!
Do you have any fun plans for Canada’s big 1-50? I’m actually going to be missing it as I will be in Minneapolis this weekend for an Ed Sheeran concert which is on July 1st but, I’ll definitely be celebrating from afar!

I’m waiting for my free Canada Day decals to come from Nail Polish Canada… hopefully they arrive in time! No big plans for Canada 150… I bought a t-shirt to wear LOL.
But oooh Ed Sheeran concert! Rest up so you’re 100% for the concert!
