Hi guys! June was another decent reading month, I met my goal of reading two books. I think in July I’ll surpass my goal as I usually spend my weekends at the cottage reading up a storm, but we’ll see! This month I read two books that I absolutely loved and both are by Canadian writers!

Room by Emma Donoghue

Room

I had wanted to read this for awhile and I promised myself that I would read it before watching the movie so this was high on my list of books to read (still haven’t watched the movie yet). I loved this book! It’s told from the perspective of five-year-old Jack whose entire world is one room. To him it’s the comforting place that he was born, but to his mother, it is the place she has been held captive for the past seven years. It’s a very powerful and emotional story that demonstrates the bond of a mother and her son who she would do anything to keep safe. I can’t recommend this book enough if you haven’t already read it!
