Hi guys! I was tagged by the lovely Corinne from Written in the Cosmets to of the Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag… In good time because I have not done my nails yet for what should have been Mani Monday! So, thank you Corrine for giving me something to post about today! If you haven’t checked out her blog, I highly recommend it!

1. Name a beauty regimen that you rarely do?

Use toner on my face… I know I should, but I still haven’t gotten around to buying one yet! But when I do I’m going to use all of your comments from my skin care routine post! Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday

Hi guys! Yet another week has come to an end!

On Monday, I went for coffee with an old friend that I hadn’t seen in awhile. It is so nice to catch up with someone and have things snap right back into place as if time hasn’t passed. I feel like with old friendships you can either pick up where you left off, or one of you has changed so much that it becomes almost hopeless. It was really great to see her and I hope I see her more in the future!

I also hit 1000 likes on the blog earlier this week so I wanted to say thank you to each one of you who has ‘liked’ one of my posts. It really means the world to me. Your positive feedback encourages me to keep going and helps me determine what kind of posts you guys like. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Snapshot Sunday

Hi guys! Another week has come to an end. I feel like I keep saying this, but honestly I don’t know where the weeks go.

2015-10-12 01.02.31

I didn’t really take any pictures this week. So, here is a picture of my dogs cuddling on Thanksgiving!

This week started off with a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with my family. It was delicious as usual! I love Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving leftovers, I got to enjoy my mom’s stuffing and gravy all week. Yum!

I also had another lovely coffee date with one of my best friends and her adorable baby boy! I always enjoy catching up with them.

After the Thanksgiving-food driven week I had and now that I’m feeling better, I have been getting back into working out again. I had a little break from the gym when I was sick, but now I’m ready to get serious about it again.

My husband and I are still playing Diablo III with one of our best friends, so we had another epic gaming session last night. I will be really sad when we finish all that we can do on that game. It is great!

This afternoon I went for a nice walk with my mom around Boulevard Lake. The weather was fairly mild and we enjoyed some great conversation and exercise!

I hope you all had a great week!

xoxo,

Robyn

Snapshot Sunday

Hi guys! I’ve been quite sick the past week so I didn’t really do much this week. I did a lot of resting, and I started watching Gotham with my husband. There really is nothing like Netflix when you’re sick.

Remembering Peaches

This week though, was a significant one, or at least it was to me. This week was both a sad week, and a happy week. This week marked one year since my dog, Peaches, passed away. I miss my little princess every day so it was a hard day.

Happy Birthday, Dex!

Happy Birthday, Dex!

On the happier side of things, on Friday this week my dog, Dex, turned one! We got him a few months after we lost Peaches to make sure that our other dog, Max, would have a companion. Max was really lonely and sad, and adding this little fluff ball to our family was a great choice. Every day with Dex is an adventure and he sure keeps Max on his toes. We love him very much and he is a great addition to our family.

On Saturday I was finally feeling a bit better so we went to a friends house to celebrate her birthday! It was nice seeing friends that we hadn’t seen in awhile.

Well… that was my week! I hope you all had a great week and are staying healthy! It is definitely the start of cold and flu season in Thunder Bay! If you are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for my husband, my dogs, my friends, my family and YOU! Thank you for making the first (almost) three months of this blog such a great experience. I love interacting with you via the comments, reading your blogs and coming up with new content to share with you.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo,

Robyn

Liebster Award!!

liebster-award-logo

Hi guys! I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Jenny, The Beauty Anti-Guru! Thank you so much! I’m so excited to participate in such a fun award! Her blog is always a delight to read so if you haven’t read it, I really recommend checking her out! My personal favourite post of hers is this one. Her facial expressions and pure excitement get me every time.

I was also nominated by Kelsey from Pretty Makeup Stuff! Thank you for the nomination as well! I also really enjoy reading her blog posts. Go check her out, she is absolutely lovely! My favourite post that she has done is this one about makeup shaming. I really couldn’t agree more with her, it is a great post!

The Rules:

  1. Once nominated, make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you.
  2. Include the LIEBSTER AWARD sticker in your post too.
  3. Nominate 10 other bloggers who you think are worthy of this award.
  4. Let them know that they have been nominated by commenting on 1 of their posts. You can nominate the person who nominated you.
  5. Answer the 10 questions asked to you by the person who nominated you and make ten questions of your own for your nominees.
  6. Lastly, copy these rules in the post.

Jenny’s Questions:

Which beauty guru would you want to do your makeup?

I think I would want Tati to do my makeup. I find her voice so soothing and she seems like the biggest sweetheart. She is also incredibly talented and has excellent opinions when it comes to makeup. I don’t think there has ever been a point where I didn’t agree with her.

What makes you subscribe to another blogger?

I am regularly browsing through wordpress to find new and exciting blogs to follow. What makes me hit the subscribe button is if I see them reviewing lots of products that I’m interested in, or that I can tell they have a unique and exciting voice. I also love bloggers who help other bloggers, I subscribe to a few blogs that frequently blog about blogging.

What are your favorite items to review?

I would say it is a tie between lipstick and eye shadow. I love swatching lipsticks and eyeshadows and comparing how pigmented they are.

What limited edition holiday thing are you most excited for?

I saw the Sephora x Jem and the Holograms Eyeshadow palette online today and it looked really cool! I’ve never tried a Sephora palette but with that price and the awesome packaging, I think I might give it a go when it comes out! I love trying new products. I can’t wait to see swatches when they are available online!

What is your favorite multitasking product?

Concealer. It is great for concealing under the eyes and imperfections, as well as adding a subtle highlight by brightening up the face.

What is the most expensive makeup item you own?

I think it would be my Urban Decay Vice 3 palette… that’s the most I have ever spent on one single product. It was well worth the investment!

Least expensive?

The Wet N Wild Walking on Eggshells eye shadow trio. It is so impressive for such an inexpensive product!

Sephora, Ulta, or Department Store?

Sephora for sure. We don’t have Ulta in Canada so I only go when I am in the states (the closest one is 4 hours away). I really like the layout on Sephora’s website for online shopping (closest Sephora is 6 hours away and also across the border). I also love shopping there in person when I do happen to be at a Sephora store. It feels so luxurious and modern inside.

Kelsey’s Questions:

1. Favorite Halloween costume?

2013-11-02 15.09.49

I posted about my Pikachu costume when I did the Fall Favourites Tag so instead of talking about that again, I’ll move onto my next favourite which was when my husband and I dressed up as Batman and Robin. At some point over the last few years my husband’s friends started calling him Batman. With that in mind and the fact that my name is Robyn, these costumes seemed extra fitting. We also both love superheroes so these costumes were perfect on many levels.

2. Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks?

We don’t have a Dunkin Donuts near me (I’m not sure if we even have them in Canada?) so I’ll go with Starbucks! 🙂

3. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

The next place on my bucket list for travelling is a tie between London, England and Paris, France. London because I’m half English, and Paris because… well, it’s Paris! Actually, my husband went to Paris for two weeks when he went to college for culinary arts, and since then he has talked about going back with me.

4. Favorite movie genre?

I love a good romantic comedy, but I think I love just a plain old comedy more. There is nothing like a movie that keeps you laughing the whole time. It really can change your mood!

5. As a child, do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a Dolphin Trainer! I was fascinated with dolphins! It looked like such a fun job.

6. Ulta or Sephora?

See answer in the first set of questions 🙂

7. What is one skill you have always wanted to try and learn?

I would really like to improve my makeup application skills. My goal is to actually attend a class and learn how to properly do it.

8. Favorite eyeshadow palette?

I think it is the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, I use it the most out of any palette I own. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is a close second. It is very pigmented and bendable, as well as smells delicious.

9. Do you prefer a crazy night out? Or a cozy night in?

Definitely a cozy night in. Nothing beats relaxing in my pjs while marathoning something on Netflix with my husband and dogs!

10. What is one makeup product that you’ve been eyeing lately?

The Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette! It looks stunning and the video that Tati did recently where she swatched and reviewed it just made me want it even more!

My Questions:

  1. Black or brown eyeliner?
  2. Favourite food?
  3. Favourite makeup purchase this year?
  4. Coffee or tea?
  5. Favourite TV show that is no longer on the air?
  6. Warm or cool tones?
  7. What CD can you listen to over and over, and never get tired of?
  8. If you won a $100 gift card for Sephora, what would you buy with it?
  9. Favourite Holiday?
  10. Best trip you have ever taken?

Snapshot Sunday

Hi guys! It is once again Sunday and time for my weekly recap.

This week was another busy one but I made time to go to yoga twice. It makes such a difference when I can make it to yoga class. There is nothing like that rush of positive energy afterwards!

Oct4-15-2

I hit two milestones on the blog this week, I hit 500 likes and 100 WordPress Followers. I just want to take a minute and say thank you for reading my blog. It really means the world to me. I really enjoy writing my posts, interacting with you and reading the blogs of my fellow WordPress users. While I enjoy it enough to write it anyways, I really do appreciate all the love and support. I hope I can continue to grow with my blog and continue to write even better posts.

I tried the Burger Barn for the first time since they have now opened their new location which will be open all year round. I was very impressed. Their prices were so inexpensive and the food was of great quality. Everything was fresh, they don’t even have a freezer on site.

1. My dog hoards his toys like I hoard makeup 2. One of my beautiful besties and I at the wedding on Saturday

This weekend I attended a wedding for a friend of mine from work. It was a beautiful wedding and I had a great time. It was nice to spend an evening celebrating with friends from work that I don’t normally see on the weekend. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

I hope you all had a fantastic week! Did you do anything exciting? Let me know in the comments below!
