It’s been awhile since I’ve done a collective haul post so I thought I’d share with you all the products I purchased during the month of August since the month is nearly over. Where did July and August go? I feel like I say this every summer but they just disappear so fast! However, rather than talking about how I already miss those sweet summer months let’s chat about the products I purchased this month! Continue reading →
Every year my husband and I spend Valentine’s Day having dinner at home (I always make something special for the occasion) and then go out either the night before or the night after. Last night we went out for dinner so I thought I’d share this date night makeup look with you today! For this look I used the Violet Voss Ride or Die Palette with a hint of the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette. Even better is that these are both palettes that I vowed to use more this winter! So let’s take a closer look at my date night makeup look!
Though the calendar says it’s spring, we still have quite a bit of snow in Thunder Bay as well as some chilly mornings. Nonetheless, since it is technically spring, I thought I’d share 5 items that are bring me more into a ‘spring’ state of mind! They are all bright and cheery which is exactly what I reach for to get me out of the darkness that I associate with winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of the vampy makeup that I reach for more during the winter, but I am ready for some change! Continue reading →
Limited edition… those two words that are meant to feel like you have to have something because someday it won’t be as easy to get your hands on. I have to admit, I’ve been hit by the urge to buy something because of those words. Particularly if it was something I was already interested in, the limited-edition-ness would simply seal the deal. This is because I have been burnt by missing out on a limited edition product that I really wanted because I waited too long. I try not to post about limited edition items when they are no longer available because I prefer that if something sparks interest with a reader, that they would be able to go out and purchase it. However, limited edition items need love too so today’s post is all about four limited edition palettes that I still love and use quite frequently. That’s the thing about limited edition items… sometimes they end up forgotten, no matter how much you felt like you needed to have it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Self Made Palette
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Palette was the first ABH eyeshadow palette that I ever purchased and it really sparked my love for their eyeshadow. For that reason and just how great this palette is, it has a very special place in my heart. I pull this palette out quite often because it has a great variety. My favourite combination is Sherbert in the crease with Hot & Cold all over the lid and Hot Chocolate in the outer-v and under my eye. However, the shade Isla is also gorgeous and fun to use! Hi guys! Though many of you are likely well-acquainted with Sephora, I’m happy to report that Thunder Bay’s very own Sephora store is opening later on this week! I thought with that in mind it would be fun to go over some products that I absolutely adore and consider staples in my makeup collection and add in a few tips. So while this post reads more like a guide to Sephora, even seasoned shoppers may find a product or two worth checking out!
Urban Decay | Vice Lipstick
I have a pretty severe love for Urban Decay but their gigantic range of lipstick is truly a must. With several different formulas ranging from sheer to mega-matte and everything in-between, there is truly something for everyone. My personal favourite is the Comfort Matte formula as it is long-wearing, and as the name suggests, comfortable on the lips. You can find a full review I did on that formula here! Some of my favourite shades include: 1993, Native & Trance. Continue reading →
Hi guys! I just did a MOTD post yesterday but, I thought, why not do two in a row? I started cleaning off my vanity today and decided to play around with some products I had out waiting to be tested. The end result turned out great so I thought I’d share it with you! I won a YSL Giveaway a few months ago but for some reason I haven’t spend as much time testing out the products as I would have liked to. My makeup routine has been so minimal on the weekends the last few months so that is likely why. During the week when I wear my normal face, I don’t have time to play around so I stick to what I know. Anyways, let’s check out the look and then I’ll talk a bit about the products I tried out!
Hi guys! A week or so ago I posted about 3 Natural Looking Blushes so today I thought I’d go the other direction and talk about 3 blushes that add a pop of colour to your cheeks. So these are less natural and more pigmented. My choices still do blend beautifully into the skin, they just stand out a little more.
Urban Decay | Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush in Rapture
I think this is the only cool toned blush that I own but I love how different it is from the rest of my collection. Rapture is a beautiful deep purply mauve shade and definitely adds a pop of colour to the cheeks! It has a very, very subtle hint of shimmer but I find it looks more matte than anything.
Hi guys! It’s that time again to go through my favourites for the month of June! I can’t believe June is over and we are already almost a week into July. Where does time go? June was a great month for makeup and I’m excited to share with you the items that I reached for the most this past month. I’m going back to doing a video format for my favourites so if you would like to learn what my favourites for the month of June were, check out the video down below!
What were your favourites for the month of June? I’d love to hear them so please let me know in the comments down below!
Hi guys! I have been getting more into highlighting over the past few years. I find myself constantly drawn to new highlights to add more glow to my face. I generally only highlight the tops of my cheek bones as I have oily skin. I have to be strategic to avoid looking greasy. However, I don’t let that get in the way of getting my highlight on! I’ve heard many oily skinned people say they avoid highlighting but honestly, I think if it’s applied right, anyone can pull it off. Today I want to share with you some of my favourite highlights!
The Balm | Mary Lou-Manizer
This highlight is essential in everyone’s make up collection. I have seen it applied on so many different skin tones and it looks amazing on all of them! This is a pretty intense highlight so blending and using a light hand is essential. When applied properly it adds such a beautiful glow to the face. It’s a beautiful “honey” shade that can also be used as an eye shadow! This is definitely a staple in my collection and no matter how many other highlights I purchase, I reach for this one time and time again! Continue reading →
