Collective Haul: December 2018

Collective Haul December 2018

Happy New Year everyone! Though I plan on sharing both my NYE makeup look and my 2018 favourites, I thought I’d first start off the year by posting my collective haul from December. I actually bought quite a bit of makeup from Sephora last month between the $25 off purchases of $75+ coupon code earlier in the month and then gift cards I received for Christmas. So let’s take a look at what I picked up last month. Continue reading

NaBloPoMo Challenge In Review

It’s over!! If you listen closely you will hear the cheers of many, many bloggers who, like me, partook in the National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) Challenge this month. Given that I basically didn’t blog at all over the summer and fall due to my crazy life this was a bit of a wake up call. Despite being less busy AND not being sick this year for it, I struggled real hard. But I made it so I just wanted to take a moment and acknowledge that and chat about the lessons learned this year. MOTD: Purple for Pancreatic Cancer

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and at work today I helped organize a fundraiser for this very important cause. After losing a friend to this illness last year I did some research and realize how truly terrifying this particular cancer is. Purple is the colour of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month so we encouraged everyone to wear purple today so you know I had to have my makeup match!

Snowmen Wine Bottle Art

snowmen wine bottle art

Stepping away from beauty for a moment, let’s chat about another one of my hobbies… crafting! As I’m in my new place now I’m starting to get more into decorating again. Decorating for Christmas is fun, however, I wanted to create something more winter-centric as Christmas is a very short time of the year vs. winter lasts quite a few months. Thus, my Snowmen Wine Bottles were born. I had seen a few ideas on Pinterest that I liked but none of them entirely captured what I wanted so I ended up winging it in the end. So let’s look at how I created my Snowmen Wine Bottle Art! I took pictures of a few of the steps and can fill in the blanks! Continue reading

November Favourites: Makeup & Skincare

November… what a busy month it was! For my family it is the month of birthdays (including my own) and it was also NaBloPoMo so I’ve been doing my best to post every day this month! Choosing my favourites for this month was actually pretty difficult as I really had to refrain from listing off everything I got in my Sephora VIB Sale Haul, haha! Alas, I was able to prune my favourites and choose the standouts that I used the most this month! Continue reading

SNP Cat Wrinkle Mask Sheet

#MaskingMonday SNP Cat Wrinkle Mask Sheet

Oh my goodness this whole NaBloPoMo thing is coming so close to winning this battle. I think I’m just 100% more disorganized this year, I am flying by the seat of my pants. However, I am overall enjoying the challenge so bring on another post! Tonight I am trying out the SNP Cat Wrinkle Mask Sheet. I’ve used a few SNP masks over the years – I quite enjoy the fun animals on them! Continue reading

Holiday Party Essentials

Holiday Party Essentials

Holiday party season is upon us! While I am personally more of a hermit (hello fellow introverts!) I do enjoy putting together makeup looks for the occasion. There are three things that I think are essential to any classic makeup look I put together… silver eyeshadow, glitter and a red lip! So let’s chat about three products that I think fit the bill for holiday party essentials! Continue reading

Friday Feels: November 23, 2018

Friday Feels

Happy Friday! Who else is ready for the weekend? I was actually off work today but it still felt like a long week. I’m looking forward to catching up on some zzz’s this weekend.

Current Happenings

Since today is Black Friday I woke up early and did some light shopping with the husband today. I ended up scoring a Christmas tree at Michael’s. They had a pre-lit 7.5 foot tree as one of their door busters and my old tree needed replacing so we scooped that up! I also found some ornaments on sale! It was a great day out! I ended up decorating the tree when I got home and really got into the Christmas spirit! I’m usually pretty indifferent about Christmas but maybe being in the new house has changed how I feel about it. Continue reading

Neglected Palette Makeup Look: Morphe 35O Palette

Morphe 35O

Another week, another neglected palette makeup look! This week I’m using the Morphe 35O Palette which was another one mentioned in my Five Neglected Eyeshadow Palettes post. When I see the Morphe 35O Palette I instantly think of a warm orangey makeup look, so since I have done that before many times, I thought I’d focus on the brown shades in the palette to switch things up a bit.
