Love for Lipstick: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche

Bite-Beauty-Amuse-Bouche-Eggplant-Pickled-Ginger.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another post in my Love for Lipstick Series! In my last haul I talked about the two shades from the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche line that I had picked up. I hadn’t tried this line and it’s fairly new so I had to pick up two because they both looked so pretty!

So let’s start off by talking about the application. These lipsticks feel very creamy and almost a bit thick to apply but don’t feel heavy once on. They are richly pigmented and only require one strategic swipe to get beautiful lips. They set down to a demi-matte/satin finish. So, it lasts all-day (but does fade as you go) and also feels super comfortable. This hydrating formula was made with nutrients, vitamins and omega-oils to help quench your lips and keep them looking healthy.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette.jpgHi guys! On Tuesday Jaclyn Hill released a very limited amount the Champagne Collection Face Palette which is part of her upcoming collaboration with Becca Cosmetics. The full collection (as well as more Face Palettes) will be available when it launches on Sephora online on May 26th and then in-stores on June 16th (Sephora exclusive). I managed to snag one during the advance release so I thought I would share some swatches to help you decide if you need this or not!

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette 2This palette features both highlighters and blushes (in both the new luminous formula and the mineral formula). The packaging is absolutely stunning, just as the products inside are as well. Continue reading

Love for Lipstick: Too Faced Melted Matte

Too Faced Melted Matte Lady Balls.jpg

Hi guys! I hauled some new lipsticks a few weeks ago in my last Love for Lipstick post so today I’m ready to share my first review! The Too Faced Melted Matte lipsticks are a new line that I’ve been dying to try so it is no surprise I am reviewing this one first. I love the packaging (it’s flat which makes them a dream to photograph) and the fact that they are long-wearing mattes! I chose the shade Lady Balls for two reasons… the first being that I don’t currently have a true red liquid lipstick and the second being the name. I think its hysterical… What am I wearing on my lips you ask? Lady Balls. Love it.

Too Faced Lady Balls Wear Time

1. 8:00 am: freshly applied 2. 12:30 pm: after eating lunch 3. 6:00 pm: final check-in (before eating dinner, but it did actually survive dinner too)

The wear time of this lipstick is pretty incredible. It survived eating a messy sandwich at lunch which was the true test. It’s a bit faded but you can rub your lips around to re-distribute the pigment so it never looks patchy. As of right now I have been wearing it for 12 hours. Incredible. Continue reading

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick Haul

Urban Decay-Bang-Streak-Bittersweet-Native1

Hi guys! If you didn’t already know, Urban Decay is discontinuing all of their current Revolution Lipsticks in anticipation of their new Vice Lipsticks. I’ve mentioned it a few times since I started the blog, but the Revolution Lipsticks are up there with my all-time favourite formulas. While I’m super sad to see them go, and super hopeful that the new formula will be just as good, if not better, I am happy to report that they put their entire Revolution line on sale! Sephora (Canada) is all sold out of the Revolution Lipsticks online as far as I can tell but Urban Decay still has a decent selection. I’m not adding this as part of my Love for Lipstick Series since these are discontinued, but, I did want to share with you what I chose…

April Favourites

April Favourites ABH Glow Kit Gleam Becca Snapdragon.jpg

Hi guys! It’s time for one of my favourite types of posts to write which coincidentally is a “favourites” post! I love taking the time to reflect on the past month and figure out which items I was reaching for the most or truly stood out. I do normally prefer to do this kind of post with a YouTube video but time has just not permitted lately to do any filming, but I’m hoping to get back into the swing of that soon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Glow Kit in Gleam

I purchased this highlight kit during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale (you can find my haul post here). I was first impressed by the reviews it was getting online, but in addition I was also impressed by the excellent value this item is. You get FOUR generously sized highlights in this kit and they are all stunning. My swatches do not do this palette justice, it’s so hard to get a good photograph of a highlighter. I chose the Gleam Kit as it is pink based and looks perfect for fair skin. The other kit, That Glow, is more bronze toned so I don’t think it would suit me personally, but it has also gotten rave reviews online as well. Continue reading

Liquid Lipstick Round-Up

Liquid Lipsticks Colourpop Kat Von D.jpg

Hi guys! This post is a day later than intended, I usually post on Wednesday’s, however due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ve been pre-occupied this week. I’m hoping Friday’s post will go up on-time but we will see how things progress. This is an unusual week.

So, today I thought it would be fun to round-up the liquid lipsticks in my collection. Liquid lipsticks are a very personal choice, everyone seems to have a different opinion on which they like. All of these opinions are based on my personal experience. What works for me, may be different for you.

Colourpop | Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks

The Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks seem to have the most mixed reviews I have ever seen online. I however, love the ones that I have. I do make sure I read reviews before I purchase them though. It seems to make a difference in which colours you purchase when it comes to formula. I own a pretty good variety of shades, you can see them all in my swatches below. I find that they are pigmented and very long-wearing. They can be a bit drying, but I always put lip balm on while I’m doing the rest of my makeup and let it soak in and then I blot off the excess before applying my lipstick. When I do this, I do not notice a drying sensation and if I do, its many hours after I’ve applied it. Continue reading
