Hi guys! It’s time for one of my favourite types of posts to write which coincidentally is a “favourites” post! I love taking the time to reflect on the past month and figure out which items I was reaching for the most or truly stood out. I do normally prefer to do this kind of post with a YouTube video but time has just not permitted lately to do any filming, but I’m hoping to get back into the swing of that soon.
Anastasia Beverly Hills | Glow Kit in Gleam
I purchased this highlight kit during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale (you can find my haul post here). I was first impressed by the reviews it was getting online, but in addition I was also impressed by the excellent value this item is. You get FOUR generously sized highlights in this kit and they are all stunning. My swatches do not do this palette justice, it’s so hard to get a good photograph of a highlighter. I chose the Gleam Kit as it is pink based and looks perfect for fair skin. The other kit, That Glow, is more bronze toned so I don’t think it would suit me personally, but it has also gotten rave reviews online as well.
Becca | Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Snapdragon
This blush was another item I picked up during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale and is simply stunning. This is a very pigmented blush so you only need to very, very lightly tap your brush into it to achieve a beautiful luminous effect on your cheeks. Snapdragon is a pinky-coral shade which I thought would be great for summer. I have been doing my best to switch it up and not wear this every day, but it’s hard because it is all I want on my cheeks these days. It is shimmery without feeling chunky or glittery and it feels very smooth to the touch (slightly drier than the Shimmering Skin Perfector highlights though). I definitely need to pick up more of these beauties. My favourite way to apply it is with the Morphe E4 Angled Contour brush (which is my usual go-to for blushes, but for this blush I wouldn’t use anything else).
Physician’s Formula | Butter Bronzer
I am not usually into bronzers as they usually don’t play nice with my fair complexion but I have been enjoying this one. It seems more on the neutral side, so I don’t end up looking orange when I wear it. It adds a nice light natural bronze-tone to my face. I can’t wait to play with this during the summer months (I’m not usually season-specific with makeup but I just don’t feel the urge to even look at bronzer in the winter). This bronzer also smells like tropical delicious-ness but the smell doesn’t linger on the face.
Essence | Longlasting Lipstick in Natural Beauty
I have been loving this lipstick. It was so inexpensive and I just love the shade and how it wears. It is no secret that I love rosey lipsticks, way back when I posted my top 5 lipsticks the rose-toned ones seemed to dominate that list. I can’t believe how long it lasts and how comfortable it feels on the lips.
Essence | Lip Liner in Satin Mauve
I don’t normally wear lip liners but I have been loving this one from Essence. I’ve actually enjoyed all of the lip liners I’ve purchased from Essence but I wear this one the most as I pair it with the Natural Beauty Lipstick. They go so well together, and have some serious staying-power.
Well, those are my favourites for the month of April! I would love to know what your favourites are so please feel free to leave them in the comments down below!
