Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Not much to report on today. It was a pretty uneventful week for the most part. Given that it is Easter weekend there is the usual family dinners.

At work it was my last week before I start my new position after the long weekend, yay! I’m really excited about that. I’m excited to learn new things and to continue to move forward with my career.

I went to see Batman v. Superman on Thursday. I didn’t have high expectations because it’s had some pretty bad reviews but I was optimistic. Unfortunately, it was pretty bad. The last 30 or so minutes were good though. I think Wonder Woman was one of the redeeming factors. I do think the next DC movies that this laid the groundwork for will be good though.

Other than that, I’ve been enjoying a quiet long weekend which has been filled with a lot of reading. I’ll have two books to talk about when I post my March Book Club this week! I’ve also been playing with my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner a lot more lately and have been obsessed with wearing winged eyeliner. I’ll have to do a tutorial on one or both of the looks I did with it this weekend! I posted one of them on my Instagram here.

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Another week down and it feel like March is almost over. Didn’t it just begin? It it just me or has 2016 been going even faster than normal? I haven’t even really been that busy….

March 20-16.jpg

1. Yummy homemade nachos that my husband and I made this week 2. Look at all that snow!! 3. My dinner from ExCuria, it was delicious! 4. Enjoying the beautiful view of the Sleeping Giant

Okay so this week… I started off the week with 2 additional dogs as my family had gone to the states so I was on dog-sitting duty. It’s always fun to watch their two dogs interact with my two.

I was offered a developmental assignment at work and it was finally announced so now everyone knows so I can talk about it. I’m really excited about it! It is a really big step forward for me so I’m looking forward to it and am ready for the challenge. That starts after the Easter weekend! Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Where do the weekends go and how is it Sunday already?

This week I actually did quite a bit, shocking I know! On Tuesday I went to see “How to be Single” with one of my good friends. I enjoyed the movie and it was nice to catch up since we hadn’t seen each other in awhile.

On Thursday I went to yoga class after work which was amazing as usual and then I went out for dinner with another one of my good friends and her adorable baby boy! We went to Montana’s which was very yummy. It’s always so therapeutic chatting with a good friend! We did a lot of venting which was long overdue.

On Saturday we had really beautiful weather! Like… t-shirt weather which in Northwestern Ontario at this time of year is pretty unusual. My husband and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and went for a walk around Boulevard Lake which I think is where half the city seemed to be! It was a great afternoon. Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Where did this weekend go and how is it Sunday evening already?

I didn’t really take any pictures this week either! Not that I did much throughout the week… I worked, as usual, went to the gym a few times with one of my best friends and started playing Zelda Wind Waker (again). My husband was away for work for the week so I enjoyed gaming on the big tv while he was gone.

He got back on Friday so we went out with one of our best friends. We were going to go to the Sovereign Room but by the time we got out (after having a few drinks at my house and watching some YouTube videos) it was pretty packed in there. So, we walked a bit further and went to On Deck. It was pretty busy there too but there were tables free so we stayed there. I must say, this was the first time I have walked in there and felt old. The crowd seemed younger than usual. But, we enjoyed some nachos and some roasted red pepper wings before calling it a night. I did run into one of my friends that I haven’t seen in awhile there so that was great! You can always count on running into someone you know there. All in all it was a fun night! Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Another week has flown right by. The husband and I were both back to work this week so it was pretty uneventful. I actually had a much better week at work than I anticipated though which was good. It’s never fun going back after being off but the rest of the week made up for it.

Feb 28-16

1. Max knows how to play up the puppy dog eyes! 2. My yummy dinner from the Prospector. 3. Dex in his signature pose… on his back with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth.

I didn’t really do much in the evening throughout the week. Just the usual… working on the blog, playing video games and working out! I’ve managed to maintain a pretty good workout routine at home which is nice. I did make it to one yoga class this week which was fantastic! Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! I can’t believe it is Sunday again. My husband and I were off work all week and it just flew by. We didn’t get nearly as much done as we had hoped (or anything for that matter) but we relaxed. I really, really don’t want to go back to reality tomorrow.

Feb 21-16.jpg

1. My snuggly puppies who enjoyed having us home for the week 2. Homemade pizza and wine 3. Exploding Kittens

This week aside from our usual relaxing activities (Netflix and video games) we did do a few exciting things. We went to see Deadpool on Monday which was a really great movie. We had been looking forward to it for a long time and it did not disappoint at all.

On Tuesday we went to see Jeremy Hotz, a comedian, at the Auditorium. This was our third (I think) time seeing him. My husband really likes stand-up comedy and enjoys him. I always enjoy him live as well. It was a fun evening of laughter. Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Another week has come and gone again! It was mostly another uneventful week. My husband and I have been playing through a video game together so it has really distracted us from everything else.

This weekend has been a bit busier though. On Saturday I went to get my hair done so I chopped quite a bit of it off and decided to go for a more chocolatey-brown colour. I really loved the red but I’ve had red hair for about a year now so it was time for a change.

After that I went shopping with my mom which was a lot of fun. It is nice to spend quality time together and catch up.

After shopping I went out with some friends to a shag. Basically it is a wedding social that couples put on to raise money for their wedding. I think it is very much a Thunder Bay thing. Anyone can attend the event, more often than not you don’t know the couple who is getting married. There is always great prizes, inexpensive drinks and music. Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Yet another week has quickly come to an end. I feel so much better this week so I’ve been able to squeeze in more exercise now that I can breathe through my nose and have energy. Catching a cold is the worst!

With that said, the week was pretty uneventful. Work was busy but that’s nothing new.

Feb 7-16.jpg

1. My dogs just can’t get enough of each other.. 2. I tried a newish Frozen Yogurt place in town (locally owned) to compare it to my beloved Menchies… unfortunately I just didn’t like it as much! 3. One of my favourite and easiest meals to make… burrito bowls! mmm! 4. Dex putting on a brave face at the vet!
