Though my birthday was a little over a week ago I waited a bit to have my party. I just had a small get together at my place but I still wanted to put together a special makeup look for the occasion. Since I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette earlier this month I decided to focus my makeup look on that palette. It was only my second time using the palette but it definitely seems to have the same formula that I know and love from previous Naked palettes.
TGIF! Though it was a short week for me it still feels like it has been a long one. I would say I am looking forward to a quiet weekend but it is going to be a busy one. But that’s okay, there are plenty of other weekends to do nothing.
I went to see Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald last night, I couldn’t wait and had to see it opening night. I really enjoyed it! I felt like it tied even better into the Harry Potter story that I already know and love. Supposedly it is getting mixed reviews but I quite enjoyed it! Continue reading

I’ve got another makeup look for you today using one of the palettes I talked about in my Five Neglected Eyeshadow Palettes post. Today I’m using the Colourpop Hi-Maintenance Palette. I think part of the reason this palette gets neglected is because it’s a quad. Nothing against quads but my general preference is bigger palettes. I like having lots of options to avoid repeating the same look with it over and over. However, it is a great palette – I love the colours in it and the formula is great. It deserves more use! Side note: I could have sworn I had posted a look using the gold shade previously which is why I used the pinks… however… in looking at my previous post about this palette… well… it’s pretty darn similar. Today’s palette spotlight focuses on an oldie but a goodie. Unlike last week’s rainbow palette, today I’ve got a more neutral staple of a palette for you – the Kat Von D Shade + Light Eyeshadow Palette. Filled with neutral mattes this palette is perfect on it’s own or used in addition to a palette that is perhaps lacking some neutral matte shades for transition, adding definition, etc.

It’s been almost a year since my last Friday Feels post but I was really feeling bring it back this week because I feel like I haven’t just chit-chatted on the blog for awhile. So let’s do just that!
It was my birthday this past Tuesday so I’m officially the big 2-9! The day actually felt just… normal, is that what getting older feels like? I enjoyed a nice lunch with my co-workers, dinner with my husband and then we went to HomeSense and picked up a couple of things for the new house.
In September I posted about some makeup palettes that were getting some serious neglect that I was going to make a point of using more this fall. My plan was to follow that up with a makeup look using each palette so this month I am going to work on doing just that! Today I’m featuring the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. Since NaBloPoMo is currently underway I thought I’d bring back my Palette Spotlight series. These posts are a quick glimpse at one of the palettes in my collection along with swatches. My intention has always been to work my way through my palette collection but I always struggle to choose which one to write about next. I like picking the brands at random to keep it interesting so it isn’t all one for any particular period of time…
Anyways, today we are looking at the Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette. I’ve had this palette since the spring and although I’m quite enamoured with it I can tell you right now it does not get enough use. I absolutely LOVE the colour selection in this palette, it is so bright and colourful!
