Every year my husband and I spend Valentine’s Day having dinner at home (I always make something special for the occasion) and then go out either the night before or the night after. Last night we went out for dinner so I thought I’d share this date night makeup look with you today! For this look I used the Violet Voss Ride or Die Palette with a hint of the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette. Even better is that these are both palettes that I vowed to use more this winter! So let’s take a closer look at my date night makeup look!
As usual I had a pretty low-key NYE at home with some close friends, but despite that, I always do something special with my makeup for the occasion. This year I decided to bust out my Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions Palette for the first time because ending and starting a year with purple makeup just seemed right. It ended up being a very purple-centric look and I ain’t mad at that!
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and at work today I helped organize a fundraiser for this very important cause. After losing a friend to this illness last year I did some research and realize how truly terrifying this particular cancer is. Purple is the colour of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month so we encouraged everyone to wear purple today so you know I had to have my makeup match!
Though my birthday was a little over a week ago I waited a bit to have my party. I just had a small get together at my place but I still wanted to put together a special makeup look for the occasion. Since I purchased the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette earlier this month I decided to focus my makeup look on that palette. It was only my second time using the palette but it definitely seems to have the same formula that I know and love from previous Naked palettes.
For the last week or so I’ve had a makeup look in my mind that I wanted to create. I wanted to create something inspired by the Little Mermaid. Meaning… I wanted to combine some foily purples and greens along with a pinky-red lip. Though I didn’t end up using the products exactly as I had envisioned I was quite pleased with how this Little Mermaid inspired makeup look turned out. December was a busy month, I had meant to post more holiday inspired makeup looks but only managed to get one up. However, I’ve been wanting to do a silvery/purple makeup look with the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in the shade Glamrock that I picked up in December. So, since I had a birthday party to go to I decided to create the look that I didn’t get a chance to do for the holiday season. I had also meant to post something using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Prism Palette so this worked out perfectly!
Hi guys! Today I thought I’d share the makeup that I’m wearing on my face today. My only inspiration for today was that I wanted to finally try the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in the shade Halo sample that I picked up from Sephora a few months ago. I was quite enamoured with it once I saw it on Makeup Your Mind (her photos of this highlight are STUNNING!) and decided to give it a shot. I don’t normally go for liquid highlights as I have oily skin and everything must be powdered. Full discloser, I did end up setting this with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Prismatic Amethyst. It not only helped set it but also helped diffuse it a bit as I was going to a day time event.
So for this look I tried both combining a TINY amount into my foundation and I also added some to my cheekbones. I think next time I’d add a little more to my foundation to see if it makes a difference. I do set everything with a matte powder but it did add a little bit of a glow from within regardless which is what I was going for.
Hi guys! Today I thought I would post the makeup look I’m wearing today as it was the first time I tried the brand new and highly controversial Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette. For those of you who may not know, there appears to be some manufacturing errors with this palette and some people have received duds. I believe most of the issues have to do with fallout and some shades hitting pan after a few uses. I just used mine for the first time this morning so it’s hard to say if I got a good one or not. So far the quality seems very similar to the Modern Renaissance Palette so I have not experienced any issues with the few shades I did use so far.
Hi guys! Today I thought I would put my selections from my Minimal Makeup post to work and show them in action. This is a makeup look that I would use for most hot summer days but is also great for a day out at the cottage. This could also be used for a day at the beach but you may want to sub in some waterproof products.
