Review: Maybelline Better Skin Foundation & Concealer

Hi guys! As I mentioned on Saturday, I received a VoxBox from Influenster full of Maybelline goodies. Today I want to share my review of the Better Skin Foundation and Concealer. These are part of their Super Stay line and are meant to be skin transforming. Unfortunately the shade of foundation I received is a bit too dark for me to wear everyday so I can’t test those claims, but I can chat about how it applied and wore on my skin.

The word I normally use to describe my skin is oily. Unless I’m using mattifying products, my foundation will get shiny fast. That is exactly what happened when I used this foundation. I did set my face with Maybelline Matte + Poreless Translucent Powder but it did still get shiny after a few hours. Surprisingly though, I don’t dislike how it turned out, it looks a bit dewy which is not usually a look I end up with. My foundation usually goes from matte to greaseball status but this is a nice in-between. I think it would be nice for summer, although I’m not sure how it would react to warmer temperatures, it’s been pretty chilly here this weekend.

Love for Lipstick: NARS vs. Bite Beauty

Hi guys! As you may already know, I started up my new Love for Lipstick Series. In case you missed it, you can find the my “round one” haul here! So today I wanted to do a comparison post and take a look at two of the matte lip pencils that I hauled. The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and the Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon. Review: St.Ive’s Green Tea Scrub

Hi guys! Today I’ve got a skincare review for you. I recently purchased the St. Ive’s Green Tea Scrub in my last Drugstore Haul so after using it for a few weeks I am ready to tell you what I think of it.

This scrub has a very interesting texture. It is as if a clay mask and an exfoliating scrub combined into one. I find it is very gentle to use and does a great job at keeping my pores clean. As well, it helps buff off any dry patches that this lovely winter may have caused. The exfoliation factor chart on the back labels it as moderate (on a scale of gentle, moderate and deep). I still find it quite gentle though but I do not have sensitive skin.

Review: TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume

Hi guys! TRESemme was kind enough to send me a few of their products from their new Beauty-Full Volume line to try out. I don’t often switch up my hair products so I thought this would be a good opportunity to try something different.

This hair system is based on the trend I’ve been seeing all over the internet of conditioning your hair first and then shampooing second. This is supposed to reduce the conditioner build-up and create more volume. I’ve always looked at that trend with skepticism because my curly hair loooves conditioner. First Impressions: Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water

Hi guys! I’m finally jumping on the micellar cleansing water bandwagon. I’m pretty late to the party but I finally decided to try out the one that Garnier put out (and it was on sale!). I chose the formula that claims to remove waterproof mascara so that I could really put it to the test. I’ve enjoyed all the Garnier skincare products that I’ve used so I was excited to give this one a try!

This Micellar water is alcohol-free. It cleanses your skin without needing to rub or rinse by lifting away dirt, oil and makeup with its micelles. It’s a watery liquid that feels a bit slippery but does not contain oil and it does not have a scent. Continue reading →

YouTube Video: Coastal Scents glamourEYES Palette

Hi guys! I have another video for you today using the Coastal Scents glamourEYES Palette. I recently used my Birchbox points to get it so I got it for free which was a huge bonus! Regularly it costs $16 CAD on the Birchbox website. I had a sample of two of the shadows from this palette and I was really impressed with the pigmentation. As well, I saw some reviews on other blogs that helped seal the deal.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Hi guys! Merry Christmas!! I’ve mentioned the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette in the past but have never done a full post on it. I absolutely love this palette and think it is a great comparison to the Urban Decay Naked 1 and Naked 2 Palettes. It is mostly warm toned though.
