Sephora 101

Hi guys! Though many of you are likely well-acquainted with Sephora, I’m happy to report that Thunder Bay’s very own Sephora store is opening later on this week! I thought with that in mind it would be fun to go over some products that I absolutely adore and consider staples in my makeup collection and add in a few tips. So while this post reads more like a guide to Sephora, even seasoned shoppers may find a product or two worth checking out!

I have a pretty severe love for Urban Decay but their gigantic range of lipstick is truly a must. With several different formulas ranging from sheer to mega-matte and everything in-between, there is truly something for everyone. My personal favourite is the Comfort Matte formula as it is long-wearing, and as the name suggests, comfortable on the lips. You can find a full review I did on that formula here! Sephora Spring VIB Sale Haul 2017

Hi guys! As many of you know, the Sephora Spring VIB Sale took place about a week ago! I was waiting for my last order to come in to post this, but the ice storm we had here in Thunder Bay this week delayed Canada Post. So when my package arrived today, on a Saturday, I was so excited I couldn’t wait to take pictures and get this post up. I posted my wish list a couple of weeks ago and although I never really stick to it, I did pick up two of the items on it! Generally my list is kind of a starting point  but I always end up straying when it comes time to placing an actual Sephora order.

There is quite a trend of liquid lipsticks in this haul, but as you probably know, that’s essentially my favourite formula to wear. Continue reading →

Wednesday Wishes Spring VIB Sale

Hi guys! It’s almost that time of the year again… The Sephora Spring VIB Sale! We are still waiting on official dates but it is sounding like the dates for VIB Rouge will be April 18 to 24th which is all we know right now. With that in mind, I thought it was time to share my wish list! I likely won’t purchase all of these items, and I may stray, but this is a good place to start!

I’ve been getting more into perfumes lately and I sampled this the other day in Sears and fell in love. I’m terrible at describing notes, so I’m going to snag those from the Sephora website: Coffee Accord, Orange Blossom, Cedarwood Essence, Patchouli Essence. It just smelled delightful. I have to say, Cat’s Instagram made me seek this out to give it a sniff! I still can’t wrap my head around how much perfumes cost so the Spring VIB sale seems like a good time to splurge! Hi guys! February was a pretty slow month for me makeup-wise. I didn’t wear much on weekends, I only purchased THREE items and I didn’t post much. The month of February I think I just felt pretty burnt out in general so I spent a lot of time relaxing and not doing much in my spare time. Hi guys! I practically did a happy dance when my Sephora order mysteriously arrived on my doorstep on Sunday. I knew it would be arriving soon, my guess was Monday (based on the tracking information I had) but somehow it decided to arrive on a non-mail day. Confusing, but I’m not complaining! Anyways, I thought I would quickly share with you what I snagged during the recent Sephora VIB Rouge Sale! Quite a few of these items are from my original fall wishlist but, I did stray as well! So, similar to my birthday haul, this is a sneak peak at what you can expect to see in upcoming reviews, makeup looks and so on!

Sin was on my original wishlist and after, I believe it was Polished and Inspired, who commented on that post, the deal was sealed. Can’t wait to try this out!

Tarte | Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed

My original list had the Tarte Colour Wheel, but since that wasn’t available I decided to pick one Tarte blush to try. I wanted a nude blush and this one jumped out at me the most. Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I did a wish list so I thought it would be fun to do one focused on products that I am eyeing up for the summer months. I don’t generally follow season-specific rules, but as the weather changes so does the needs of my skin, and I just find myself reaching for brighter colours!

Urban Decay | Vice Lipstick

Backtalk (Comfort Matte)

I’ve been eagerly anticipating the launch of the Vice Lipsticks from Urban Decay, mainly because I love, love, love their Revolution Lipsticks. I’m really hoping these will be just as good, or better! I do like the different formulas in the range and like usual, I am drawn to the mattes. I would love to try all the formulas, but right now I am enticed by Vanity Kills (Mega Matte) and Backtalk (Comfort Matte). Vanity Kills looks like a fun lavender shade for the summer. Backtalk looks like a perfect everyday mauvey-nude which would go with a more “natural” looking every day look. I tend to wear less makeup on an average summer day since I’m doing more outdoor activities like going for a walk, hike or spending the weekend at the cottage.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Modern Renaissance Palette

I absolutely loved the Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Palette (and still do!) so it is no surprised I am drawn to this beauty. This looks like a beautiful array of pinks and warm-toned shades that again, would be perfect for the summer! There looks like there are some great neutrals for a very simple look, but lots of brights if you want to add some colour! Continue reading →

All About That Glow: Spring Wishlist

Hi guys! I thought it would be fun to share with you some of the products I’ve been eying up lately, especially with the upcoming VIB sale at Sephora! I feel like most of my wish list seems to revolve around highlighting the face which I have no issue with at all. You’ll be surprised to see there isn’t a single eyeshadow palette on this list! Shocking considering I’m usually such a palette-junkie.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlight: Aura

This light pink highlight has had me hooked since I saw it start to appear online recently. I think it would compliment my fair skin so I know it needs to make its way into my online shopping cart ASAP. Also, I love the Afterglow blushes, they are my favourites, so I have high hopes for the highlighters!
