Coral Makeup Look: Pantone Colour of the Year 2019

Coral Makeup Look Pantone Colour of the Year 2019

March is almost over and before it ends I knew I had to share a coral makeup look with you guys! Coral is not only Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2019 but it is also the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Theme of the Month (see the linked posts at the end of this post for more coral posts!). A lot of the coral products featured in this post were mentioned in my Coral Round-Up earlier in the month. So let’s see them in action, shall we? Continue reading

Revlon Galaxy Dream Palette vs. Kat Von D Alchemist Palette

Revlon Galaxy Dream vs. KVD Alchemist

The second I set eyes on the Revlon Galaxy Dream Palette (sent complimentary for review) I immediately thought of the Kat Vo D Alchemist Palette and wondered if it was an affordable dupe. The Revlon Galaxy Dream Palette retails for $19.99 CAD and the Kat Von D Alchemist Palette retails for $44.00 CAD. They both feature non-traditional highlight shades. By non-traditional I mean shades like pink, blue and green compared to the standard champaign, gold and peach highlighters that we frequently in the beauty community.

Colourpop Custom Palette

Colourpop Custom Palette

A few weeks ago Colourpop had another BYOP (build your own palette) sale where you could order a custom palette at a discounted price. I have enjoyed the pressed eyeshadows that I have ordered from them in the past so I thought it would be fun to build a palette of my own. I very rarely order single shadows so I spent a lot of time thinking about what shades I would want in my palette. I think the results were a very ‘me’ palette… a mix of neutrals and colourful shades. It’s also 50/50 mattes and shimmers which is what I like to see in a palette.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick

There’s nothing better than getting to try a product out without having to shell out money for a full sized product. Especially when that product is considered a luxury brand and therefore has a higher price tag. I’ve been intrigued by Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks for some time now, especially since Sephora started carrying them, but the price tag ($39 CAD) always made me put off the inevitable purchase. When I saw that the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick was available in the Sephora Beauty Insider Rewards Bazaar I didn’t hesitate to use some of my points to try it out. The shade that was available as a deluxe sample was Pillow Talk which is a nude pink. For me I would consider this a MBB shade (my lips but better) which is great! Continue reading

Essence Do You Speak Love?

Essence Do You Speak Love?

When I want a quick manicure that will survive about a week with minimal chipping, Essence’s gel polishes are one of my go-to’s. They are inexpensive and they really do last on the nails. Today I’ve got Essence Do You Speak Love? on my nails, which to be honest, I don’t remember purchasing. I had to double check to make sure I hadn’t previously featured it on the blog. I sometimes pick them up when I’m grocery shopping so that would explain why I don’t remember purchasing it. I’m sure I’ve worn it at least once before though. It’s a beautiful deep red shade which is the type of red I’m more drawn to wearing versus the classic brighter reds. Continue reading

Pantone Colour of the Year 2019: Coral

Pantone Colour of the Year 2019 Coral

It’s March and spring, though it seems so far away if you’re buried in snow like we are in Thunder Bay, is coming! Pantone has declared Coral to be the colour of the year for 2019 so I thought it would be fun to round up some products that feature this beautiful colour that reminds me so much of spring. Coral is the March theme of the month for the Canadian Beauty Bloggers so be sure to check out the posts linked at the end of this post for more coral fun!
