Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara

Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara

Hi guys! I mentioned the Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara in my January Favourites, and as promised, I’m ready to give you my full review! Essence is a brand that I am usually impressed by, their prices are fantastic and their products are usually of great quality. After enjoying the last mascara that I tried from them and seeing the False Lash Effect Mascara mentioned in a Rachhloves video on YouTube, I knew I had to give it a try.

First off, the mascara wand has a bristle brush and it is quite average in size. I find the formula to be quite nice, it isn’t too dry or too wet so it is easy to apply. While I wouldn’t say my lashes look false any any means, my lashes do look thicker and a touch longer. If my lashes look at all clumpy in my photos, that is unfortunately just the way my lashes behave sometimes. In person, this mascara doesn’t look clumpy at all.

I haven’t had any issues with flaking or smudging during the month or two that I have been using this mascara. The only time I have experienced this is if I’ve aggressively rubbed my eyes (it happens!). The Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara looks the same at night when I take it off as it did when I apply it in the morning. It is quite reasonable to remove, a little Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water does the trick (I use the waterproof version).

Overall, I’m impressed! Though I’ll likely try another mascara next, I would repurchase this in the future.

Have you tried the Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara yet? If not, what mascara are you currently loving? Let me know in the comments down below!

xoxo,

Robyn

  1. I’ve been eyeing this one – the tube is so girly / pretty too! So affordable… makes me wonder why anyone would pay $30 for a mascara when you have to change it up so often.

    • Exactly!! I haven’t purchased ANY ‘high end’ mascaras since I started trying all sorts from the drug store. Although I love Too Faced Better than Sex, I haven’t repurchased it in two years!

    • Me too! Their prices are fantastic and the products definitely surpass what you would expect for the price tag! I don’t think I’ve met an Essence product that I didn’t like.

  2. I recently tried the Get Big Lashes mascara and I thought it was decent – it didn’t thicken enough for me but I found it was a good natural looking mascara.
I’m trying a new one from them that I can’t remember the name of but I really like it – it does what I wanted the Princess Lash to do but with no flaking or smudging. I’m glad it worked for you! The great thing about Essence is that if you don’t like one mascara they’ve got 50 other ones to try out and they’re so cheap! 😉

    • Yeah I liked the Get Big Lashes Mascara, but it wasn’t a favourite. Definitely great for a natural look though, that was the mascara I took with me on my road trip in the summer when I was mostly sporting a no-makeup makeup type look.

Yeah, I’m always open to trying new Essence products because even if it doesn’t work out, the product was super inexpensive anyways!
