Hi guys! Today I’m finally ready to share my thoughts on the It Cosmetics CC Cream that I picked up in early July during a trip to Ulta. I was looking for something a bit lighter with some SPF for the summer so I chose this after seeing many rave reviews. I will say that after much use, I’m not a fan of this product for every day wear, but it does have a place in my makeup routine.
The photo above shows the It Cosmetics CC Cream (shade: fair) freshly applied. I’ve worn the ret of my usual makeup and have set it with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder. I’ve also set my face using the Makeup Revolution Oil Control Fixing Spray. It applies quite nicely, I’ve used both my fingers and a beauty blender and either works fine. It gives a hint of coverage, just enough to even out my skin which I quite like. However, I can’t wear this product with my normal makeup routine.
Throughout the day this product disappears on me and I think it is because of my oils. It’s hard to tell in the photo but chunks of my blush have disappeared and my face is very, very shiny. The above photo was taken on at the end of an average work day. The first time I wore it, my husband asked me why my makeup was so patchy as we were driving home from a barbeque.
If I’m not wearing other coloured makeup (ie. just wearing this and a powder to set it), then it isn’t as noticeable. So essentially I only like it for when I’m just wearing minimal makeup, but I just can’t get on board with the It Cosmetics CC Cream for my regular routine.
I do completely believe that this is a holy grail product for a lot of people, but I suspect their skin isn’t as oily as mine is. With that said, I didn’t go into trying this with super high expectations as I usually need a very matte foundation. So, for my normal routine I’m sticking with my tried and true L’Oreal Pro-Matte foundation, but this is fine for weekends wear I don’t wear a lot of makeup.
Have you tried the It Cosmetics CC Cream yet? Let me know in the comments below! It Cosmetics will be launching on Sephora.ca August 17th!
xoxo,
Robyn
I didn’t have the best luck with this product either which is so unfortunate! I would love to have something that is lighter than a foundation but this product just didn’t make the cut 😦

I’ve heard good things about this but it seems to work best for those with normal or dry skin. I doubt it would play well with my combo skin.

Agreed! I figured I’d still give it a shot though, it is okay for minimal days. And it was 20% off 😊

I haven’t tried this but I plan to get it once they’re in Canada. I do love the concealer. http://www.mrsqbeauty.com

Yeah definitely give it a try when Sephora has it! You could probably pick up a sample to try it first before buying.

I have been looking at trying this CC cream and I really appreciate your review! I have very oily skin as well so I was a bit worried about it. I like a bit more coverage and need something I can put my everyday makeup on top of. The price point also scared me off a bit. I am happy that IT cosmetics is in Canada now though!

Yeah if you’re oily like me and are planning on wearing other makeup over it, you may want to try a few different ones out before committing to one. This one, for me anyways, doesn’t last very long on my face.

Yeah I like it for simple days but unfortunately for me it doesn’t seem to last very long. But if you have drier skin it probably works a lot better.
