Rimmel Influenster Voxbox

Hi guys! A little under a month ago I received the Rimmel Voxbox from Influenster complimentary for review. It contains the Rimmel Shake it Fresh Mascara and the Only 1 Matte Lipstick in the shade Trendsetter. Given I enjoy testing mascaras and I loooove matte lipstick I was pretty excited to start testing these out. After a few weeks of testing, I’m ready to share my thoughts on them.

Rimmel Shake it Fresh Mascara

The premise behind the Rimmel Shake it Fresh Mascara is that it delivers clump-free volume with it’s patented shaker system, which allows you to shake your mascara when it needs a refresh. I have to say, this formula is so wet, I can’t really see it getting dry or clumpy before the mascara itself is ready to be tossed. Love for Lipstick: Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint

Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Love for Lipstick post so today I’ve got one featuring the Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Adorbs! I picked this beauty up last month during the Sephora Spring VIB Sale and I’ve been testing it out ever since. I really love testing out new liquid lipsticks as I’m always on a quest to find the best wear times. I chose the shade Adorbs as it’s so bright and looks so summery. Plus, I didn’t already have any bright liquid lipsticks, bonus!

Formula

The formula of Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint is a slightly thicker than I’m used to mousse-y formula. Application is really quite easy. Between the consistency of the formula, and the shape of the wand, I could easily get a nice clean, even application on the lips. The wand is a bit longer and less doe-footy than your typical liquid lipstick applicator. I thought this would make it harder to apply but this actually made it easier to get a precise application! Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara

Hi guys! I mentioned the Essence Lash Princess False Effect Mascara in my January Favourites, and as promised, I’m ready to give you my full review! Essence is a brand that I am usually impressed by, their prices are fantastic and their products are usually of great quality. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share a quick review of a product I have been obsessed with for the past month or so… Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow! I picked this wonderful pomade up during the Sephora VIB Sale and I do not regret it one bit. In fact, I wonder what took me so long to finally purchase this? It was actually a recommendation from my sister, whose brows always look fantastic.

When I use this product all I do is I quickly brush my brows into place and use a small brow brush. I very lightly dip it into the pot and start working on the tail of my brow. I may have to dip it in one more time (lightly). As I get closer to the start of my brow I let the pigmentation taper off. If I make any mistakes I go in with a small brush and some foundation. While this sounds like a long process, it takes me very little time to do each brow.

I’m using photos from my last holiday look as I felt that my application of the Anastasia Dip Brow was perfect for this review as well.

Eden’s Semilla Vitamin E & Jojoba Oil

Hi guys! Eden’s Semilla was kind enough to send me two of their 100% natural oils for review. Going into this, I hadn’t really used oils all that much. I’d used a few samples here and there but never had fully committed myself to testing out an oil. The two that I was sent were the Vitamin E Oil and the Jojoba Oil. Eden’s Semilla was originally formed in the United States.

Now, let’s dive into these lovely oils…

Eden’s Semilla | Vitamin E Oil

The Vitamin E oil was the first one that I started testing. Made from a blend of their Jojoba Oil and Rosehip Oil, the product delivers an excellent consistency for application. It is the thinner product of the two oils and very versatile. Some of the benefits I’ve seen from it is a hydrated face and hydrated cuticles which is so important at this time of the year. It also absorbs quickly into the skin so that you are not left with a greasy residue. Any dryness that the winter weather has thrown my way has been repaired.

When using this oil while applying foundation, which is honestly something that scared me a bit before, I find that my skin has a natural glow and I don’t get greasy. If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I have oily skin so I really was impressed and how this didn’t negatively affect my foundation. While I haven’t had any sunburns in a long time, this product is also supposed to be excellent for proving relief from them.

Some of the ways I’ve enjoying using this product:

All over my face either on it’s own or prior to applying my nightly moisturizer
On my cuticles
A drop added to my makeup sponge prior to blending foundation for a natural glow

Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose

Hi guys! I reviewed a few Maison Jacynthe makeup items a few weeks ago and today I’ve got a skincare item that they also sent to me for review. It is their lovely Eau Florale de Rose, or in English… Rose water! What drew me to this item is that I don’t really have any facial mists that I use and I enjoy trying out new things. So, let’s take a look at this Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose!

First off, I love the smell of this product. It truly smells like beautiful roses. Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. We had a rose bush in my backyard and I loved to pick the pedals and put them in water to make my own “perfume”. When I spritz this on my face, I feel like I’m being transported back in time. Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 (Colour 1)

Hi guys! This is my last eye shadow palette from my birthday hauls (birthday and VIB sale) and I saved the most luxurious for last, the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 (Colour 1). I’d had my eye on Natasha Denona eyeshadow palettes for quite some time now and with the VIB sale, I had all the convincing that I needed to pull the trigger.

Though pickings were slimming during the VIB sale, I ended up choosing Colour 1 out of all of the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 options available. I wanted something with an interesting and unique colour selection. This particular palette contains one matte shade and four shimmers. The first three shades are more shimmery and satiny and the last one is more of a glitter.

Morphe x Kathleenlights Eye Shadow Palette

Hi guys! Today I’ve got my first impressions of the Morphe x Kathleenlights Eye Shadow Palette for you! I hesitated posting this as the palette is currently sold out, but Morphe is still posting it on their Instagram so fingers crossed that it comes back at least one more time! If you didn’t already guess or assume, this palette was done in collaboration with YouTuber, Kathleenlights, who is one of my favourite ones to watch!

The Morphe x Kathleenlights Eye Shadow Palette is a fairly neutral palette with a few pops of colour. It contains a mix of mattes and shimmers, as well as warm tones and cool tones. What I love about this palette is that it looks like something that, if you are familiar with her channel, Kathleenlights would use all the time.

As for shadow quality, I have no complaints so far. I really enjoy my Morphe 35W palette so I knew I’d be happy with this one too. What I love about the mattes is that they are blendable and very buildable. This would be a great palette for someone starting out as it doesn’t immediately pack on the pigment so you can achieve a soft blended crease. The shimmer shades are stunning as well and look almost metallic on the lid and are buttery soft to apply. Continue reading →

Maison Jacynthe Makeup Review

Hi guys! Maison Jacynthe was kind enough to send me some of their newly launched makeup items for review and after a few weeks of testing, I am ready to share my thoughts on them! They are a fairly new Canadian company, founded in 2014 by Jacynthe René who is an actress and a producer. Their makeup line launched on August 28, 2016 and is formulated with active and natural ingredients.

Maison Jacynthe: The Lipsticks

Being the matte lipstick lover that I am, I chose two of from this line to test. I’ve worn both of them extensively and have found the formula to be very consistent between the two shades. The formula is creamy and glides onto the lips when you apply it. There is no ‘dragging’ sensation that you may find with some matte lipsticks. Continue reading →

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara

Hi guys! As you know, I love testing and trying out different mascaras. I had previously reviewed the L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara, but when a friend suggested the Telescopic Mascara in the gold mascara I was intrigued.

The brush with the Telescopic Mascara is the same as the Telescopic Carbon Black. They both have a flexible precision brush. I personally love this style of brush because it works well for both the top and bottom lashes. Much easier to apply mascara without wearing it all over my skin!
