Snapshot Sunday

Hi guys! I hope you all had a lovely week. Yet another has wrapped up and here I am wishing that the weekends were longer.

I spent a lot of time with friends this week which was great because my husband was away for work. So, naturally there was visits and video games. It’s so great that I can count on them to distract me and cheer me up when I’m not having a great week. There is nothing like Yoshi’s Wooly World (which is an adorable game for the Wii U), wine and good conversation! Continue reading

Hi guys! Yet another week has come to an end!

On Monday, I went for coffee with an old friend that I hadn’t seen in awhile. It is so nice to catch up with someone and have things snap right back into place as if time hasn’t passed. I feel like with old friendships you can either pick up where you left off, or one of you has changed so much that it becomes almost hopeless. It was really great to see her and I hope I see her more in the future!

I also hit 1000 likes on the blog earlier this week so I wanted to say thank you to each one of you who has ‘liked’ one of my posts. It really means the world to me. Your positive feedback encourages me to keep going and helps me determine what kind of posts you guys like. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hi guys! Another week has come to an end. I feel like I keep saying this, but honestly I don’t know where the weeks go.

2015-10-12 01.02.31

I didn’t really take any pictures this week. So, here is a picture of my dogs cuddling on Thanksgiving!

This week started off with a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with my family. It was delicious as usual! I love Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving leftovers, I got to enjoy my mom’s stuffing and gravy all week. Yum!

I also had another lovely coffee date with one of my best friends and her adorable baby boy! I always enjoy catching up with them.

After the Thanksgiving-food driven week I had and now that I’m feeling better, I have been getting back into working out again. I had a little break from the gym when I was sick, but now I’m ready to get serious about it again.

My husband and I are still playing Diablo III with one of our best friends, so we had another epic gaming session last night. I will be really sad when we finish all that we can do on that game. It is great!

This afternoon I went for a nice walk with my mom around Boulevard Lake. The weather was fairly mild and we enjoyed some great conversation and exercise!

I hope you all had a great week!

Robyn

Hi guys! I’ve been quite sick the past week so I didn’t really do much this week. I did a lot of resting, and I started watching Gotham with my husband. There really is nothing like Netflix when you’re sick.

Remembering Peaches

This week though, was a significant one, or at least it was to me. This week was both a sad week, and a happy week. This week marked one year since my dog, Peaches, passed away. I miss my little princess every day so it was a hard day.

Happy Birthday, Dex!

Happy Birthday, Dex!

On the happier side of things, on Friday this week my dog, Dex, turned one! We got him a few months after we lost Peaches to make sure that our other dog, Max, would have a companion. Max was really lonely and sad, and adding this little fluff ball to our family was a great choice. Every day with Dex is an adventure and he sure keeps Max on his toes. We love him very much and he is a great addition to our family.

On Saturday I was finally feeling a bit better so we went to a friends house to celebrate her birthday! It was nice seeing friends that we hadn’t seen in awhile.

Well… that was my week! I hope you all had a great week and are staying healthy! It is definitely the start of cold and flu season in Thunder Bay! If you are celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for my husband, my dogs, my friends, my family and YOU! Thank you for making the first (almost) three months of this blog such a great experience. I love interacting with you via the comments, reading your blogs and coming up with new content to share with you.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo,

Robyn

Hi guys! It is once again Sunday and time for my weekly recap.

This week was another busy one but I made time to go to yoga twice. It makes such a difference when I can make it to yoga class. There is nothing like that rush of positive energy afterwards!

Oct4-15-2

I hit two milestones on the blog this week, I hit 500 likes and 100 WordPress Followers. I just want to take a minute and say thank you for reading my blog. It really means the world to me. I really enjoy writing my posts, interacting with you and reading the blogs of my fellow WordPress users. While I enjoy it enough to write it anyways, I really do appreciate all the love and support. I hope I can continue to grow with my blog and continue to write even better posts.

I tried the Burger Barn for the first time since they have now opened their new location which will be open all year round. I was very impressed. Their prices were so inexpensive and the food was of great quality. Everything was fresh, they don’t even have a freezer on site.

This weekend I attended a wedding for a friend of mine from work. It was a beautiful wedding and I had a great time. It was nice to spend an evening celebrating with friends from work that I don’t normally see on the weekend. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

I hope you all had a fantastic week! Did you do anything exciting? Let me know in the comments below!

Hi guys! I hope you all had a wonderful week! Mine just flew by.

My week started out with a trip to the Terry Fox Monument. My husband and I were talking about how we hadn’t gone together in awhile so we took a short drive there to enjoy the view. This was followed by a trip to Merla Mae for an always delicious ice cream cone.

I also had another coffee date with one of my best friends and her baby. This is seeming to become a regular thing and I’m really enjoying that. You really do learn who your real friends are in life and it is so important to spend time with them.

This week was another one of my best friends’ birthday. She had a little get together at her place to celebrate which was full of great food, and great times. We spent some time playing with her camera and sparklers which ended up creating some awesome pictures.

Today my husband and I decided to take a drive out to Kakabeka Falls to walk around and enjoy the view. The weather was absolutely beautiful today so we thought we should take advantage of it. It is places like this that remind me why I love living in Northern Ontario.

I hope everyone had a great week! Let me know if you did anything interesting in the comments below!

Snapshot Sunday

Hi guys! Another week has flown right by, I can’t believe we are nearing the end of September. How did that happen? This week has been relatively eventful but I have almost no pictures to show for it.

Sept 20-15

In lieu of pictures from this week… I give you puppy cuddles from this week!

This week started off with a lovely coffee date with one of my best friends and her adorable baby boy. I decided to give the newly formulated Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks a try, and I was not disappointed. I didn’t like the original, but the revamped one is delicious!

Work was very busy so I enjoyed some quiet evenings at home to recharge. I don’t think I’ve had a week fly by quite as quickly and chaotically as this past one.

After work on Friday my husband and I attended an event called Savour Superior. It was a fundraiser that featured samples from many local businesses. There was lots of culinary dishes and beverages to choose from. The format was very interesting. Your admission ticket came with 20 sample tickets that you could use at the booths. At each booth the samples they offered ranged in price but were usually around 3-4 tickets on average. You could buy more sample tickets if need be but I found 20 to be the perfect amount. After trying many different booths, I found that the Pakoras at Daytona’s were my favourite dish. I really wanted to take some pictures of the samples I tried to use for this post but it was so crowded.

On Saturday I went out shopping twice, once with my husband and once with my mom. It was nice to spend the day wandering around the mall while sipping on a yummy tea.

Today, I might be being a bit ambitious but I would like to work out, go for a walk, do my grocery shopping and do laundry. Let’s see how much of that I actually get done…

I hope you all had a wonderful week! As always, feel free to share your stories below in the comments!

Until next time…

xoxo,

Robyn

Hi guys! Another week has come and gone, and this time it was a slightly busier one. I had my last little bit of holidays for the summer so I relaxed and enjoyed the beginning of the week. I wish I could say I was productive, but for the most part, I was not. I did make it to the gym and cleaned the house though.

Sept 13-15

The view from the cliff behind the cottage at Silver Islet

Later on this week my father-in-law came to visit. This always means a lot of eating. We always go out for a few delicious meals while he is here and this time was no exception. The first night we had our standard dinner at the Caribou (my favourite), we took him to the Barbecupid Food Truck, we went to the Sovereign Room for appetizers, and Made Fresh for breakfast. All of the meals were too much food, but delicious nonetheless!

After all of the eating was out of the way, we spent Saturday afternoon at Silver Islet. We had never taken him there before so we enjoyed taking him around to see the sights. This including going up the cliff behind the cottage for the breathtaking view. Thankfully the weather cooperated and it was nice and warm all day.

I hope everyone else had a great week! As always, share your stories in the comments below!

Robyn
