Friday Feels

It’s been almost a year since my last Friday Feels post but I was really feeling bring it back this week because I feel like I haven’t just chit-chatted on the blog for awhile. So let’s do just that!

Current Happenings

It was my birthday this past Tuesday so I’m officially the big 2-9! The day actually felt just… normal, is that what getting older feels like? I enjoyed a nice lunch with my co-workers, dinner with my husband and then we went to HomeSense and picked up a couple of things for the new house.

Neglected Palette Makeup Look: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance

In September I posted about some makeup palettes that were getting some serious neglect that I was going to make a point of using more this fall. My plan was to follow that up with a makeup look using each palette so this month I am going to work on doing just that! Today I’m featuring the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. I typically do a warm and orangey or a pink makeup look using this palette so this time I decided to do something a bit different. Continue reading

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding

Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding

I love trying new skincare. While I am by no means a skincare expert (at all), I enjoy picking up various samples of moisturizers, face masks, serums… you name it. Within the last year I picked up a deluxe sample of the Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding (probably using Sephora points) and I have to say I have been using it quite a bit lately. My apologies in advance for the sub-par product shots… I tried experimenting with lighting (instead of natural light) in an effort to beat this fleeting daylight thing and so far I haven’t figured it out. Palette Spotlight: Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette

Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette

Since NaBloPoMo is currently underway I thought I’d bring back my Palette Spotlight series. These posts are a quick glimpse at one of the palettes in my collection along with swatches. My intention has always been to work my way through my palette collection but I always struggle to choose which one to write about next. I like picking the brands at random to keep it interesting so it isn’t all one for any particular period of time…

Anyways, today we are looking at the Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette. I’ve had this palette since the spring and although I’m quite enamoured with it I can tell you right now it does not get enough use. I absolutely LOVE the colour selection in this palette, it is so bright and colourful!Violet Voss the Rainbow Palette Continue reading

30 Beauty Questions Tag

30 Beauty Questions Tag

I haven’t done a tag in quite some time so I thought it would be fun to do the 30 Beauty Questions Tag post today. I wasn’t tagged in it per say but I did find it while searching online for a fun one to do. I love reading tag posts to learn more about fellow bloggers and their preferences!

30 Beauty Questions Tag

1 // Do you remember your first makeup item?

It had to be either a black eyeliner (not sure which brand) or a Cover Girl icy blue eye shadow.

2 // Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

Benefit Roller Lash. Oh my goodness I don’t know what took me so long to get on this band wagon. The perfect mascara for me lasts all day and adds curl to my lashes without needing to use an eyelash curler which this one does. Continue reading

Sephora VIB Fall Sale Haul 2018

Sephora VIB Fall Sale Haul 2018

The Sephora VIB Sale is still underway but I did my shopping last weekend when the sale started for rouge members. I actually for the most part didn’t stray too far from my list and restrained from purchasing everything on said this. I think this is the first time I’ve only purchase ONE palette during the fall sale. Nonetheless I am excited about what I did pick up and am looking forward to starting to play with it all! The Body Shop 24 Days of Enchanted Advent Calendar + Giveaway!

Even though we have just passed Halloween, if you have been in any stores lately it is very evident that Christmas is up next! When I was a kid I would get so excited for Advent Calendar season whether it was a traditional chocolate one or the mini Christmas trees my mom set up for my sister and I where we would get a little ornament each day in December to decorate it. Given my obsession with all things beauty the idea of a Body Shop Advent Calendar is pretty exciting to me! It’s like a grown-up version of something I already love and get excited about! Halloween 2018: Devil Costume

Devil Costume

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Halloween is my favourite holiday! I just love getting dressed up and going out! It’s so much fun. I usually start thinking about and planning for halloween a few months in advance however with how busy this summer and fall were, I ended up pulling together costumes for myself and my husband less than a week before the event we went to last weekend. I decided to be a devil, which meany my husband ended up being an angel. Considering how little time it took to put together these costumes I’m quite pleased with how they turned out!

The inspiration for the devil costume really does centre around makeup. I wanted to do something dark and a devil was the first thing that came to mind.

Esqido Gel Eyeliner Pencils Review

Esqido Gel Eyeliners

I don’t know about you but I am picky when it comes to eyeliner. I want my eyeliners to be pigmented and I want them to glide smoothly across my skin without any tugging. Any eyeliner that can meet these criteria are a win in my books. Esqido recently sent me their Gel Eyeliner Pencils to review in the shades black and brown so I was curious to see how they would fare.

Esqido Gel Eyeliners

Esqido’s Gel Eyeliner retails for $16 USD (though at the time of writing this they are on special for $12 USD). I was pleasantly surprised to see that my package shipped from Ontario which was nice as it arrived quickly and there weren’t any surprise fees upon delivery. Continue reading
