How old were you when you first started wearing makeup?
I remember playing with makeup sets when I was probably between 8 and 10 to play ‘make over’ but I didn’t start wearing makeup ‘for real’ until I was in grade 7 so, 12 years old.
How did you get into makeup?
Like most girls my age, my first makeup products that I collected and wore were Lip Smackers when I was into those beginning when I was 8 I think. I hoarded them, I don’t think I really used up many of them but there were a few shades that were definitely favourites. There was a silver glittery one that I recall being particularly fond of. Hi guys! Welcome to the first Mani Monday of 2017, kicking off the year I’ve got Revlon Facets of Fuchsia on my nails. This was a limited edition shade from Revlon that I picked up a few bottles of. It was love at first sight and I needed to make sure I had backups! Even so, I haven’t worn this polish in quite some time so I thought it was the perfect time to dig it out. Revlon Facets of Fuchsia is a glitter polish (fuchsia glitter pieces, who’d guess?) suspended in a black jelly base. My preferred way of wearing it is layered over a black cream polish to add opacity. Revlon Facets of Fuchsia is actually a dupe of Deborah Lippmann’s Bad Romance which appears to also be discontinued.

Hi guys! Since lipstick is something that I wear every single day, I thought it would be fun to look back at the ones I reached for the most this year. While I enjoy changing up my lipstick, there is a few that stood out in the pack and were clearly favoured.
It should be no surprise that this lipstick made the list of my most worn lipsticks. Marc Jacobs’ J’Adore was also on my list of game changers this year. This rum raisin shade looks lovely with a warm makeup look which is what I wore most of the year.
One of my favourite liquid lipsticks to wear this year was Colourpop’s Beeper. It’s a lovely greige rose shade. I love the wear time of this liquid lipstick and I don’t find it too drying. Though, keep in mind, I have a high tolerance for liquid lipsticks. Continue reading
Hi guys! I don’t know about you but I am thrilled to see the end of 2016. It’s been a really tough year on my friends and family and I’m ready for what I hope to be a better 2017. But, since the year is coming to an end, it is also time to look back and acknowledge some game changing beauty products that for me were the best of 2016. These products may not all be new releases to 2016 but they were products that were new to me and were, you guessed it, game changing. I’m not going to go over every makeup category as I recently did the Ride or Die Makeup Tag which goes over general favourites for each category (new and old). So without further ado… here are my best of 2016 choices!
I recently gave this brow pomade a glowing review and for good reason. Though it came into my life later in 2016, it really changed my brow game for the better. I never really felt confident in my brow abilities, but when I wear this I feel like my brows look their best. Definitely up high on my best of 2016 list!
I reviewed this lipstick as part of my Love for Lipstick series and it was an instant favourite. I love the shade and I love the formula. The wear time and comfort of this lipstick, to me, are amazing. I’ll definitely be grabbing more shades from this line in the years to come. Personally, I find them a worthy investment. Hi guys! Today’s holiday look encompasses one of my favourite parts of this time of year, a classic red lip. And of course, for this I had to use one of my favourite reds, Too Faced Melted Matte in Lady Balls. I get so many compliments when I wear this colour and I definitely wear it more than ever during the holidays. Each time I wear it, I secretly hope that someone asks me what colour I’m wearing because this shade has such a great name. The looks I get when I say I’m wearing “Lady Balls” makes it so worth it.
Hi guys! I practically did a happy dance when my Sephora order mysteriously arrived on my doorstep on Sunday. I knew it would be arriving soon, my guess was Monday (based on the tracking information I had) but somehow it decided to arrive on a non-mail day. Confusing, but I’m not complaining! Anyways, I thought I would quickly share with you what I snagged during the recent Sephora VIB Rouge Sale! Quite a few of these items are from my original fall wishlist but, I did stray as well! So, similar to my birthday haul, this is a sneak peak at what you can expect to see in upcoming reviews, makeup looks and so on!
Sin was on my original wishlist and after, I believe it was Polished and Inspired, who commented on that post, the deal was sealed. Can’t wait to try this out!
My original list had the Tarte Colour Wheel, but since that wasn’t available I decided to pick one Tarte blush to try. I wanted a nude blush and this one jumped out at me the most. I actually wore this yesterday and I’m absolutely in love with this shade. It’s exactly what I was looking for! Continue reading
Hi guys! Happy Halloween! I’m super excited to share with you the costume that I wore this year… Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy! I had a few different ideas floating around but Gamora really jumped out at me the most. I love the Guardians of the Galaxy movie and Gamora is such a strong and powerful character. My husband was Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy.
I don’t really use a lot of face paint so, I cheaped out and ordered green face paint online. I should have done some research because this stuff was hard to work with. It dried very uneven so I had to build it up, and if my face got even the tiniest bit oily, the face paint would start to fade. At least the Halloween party I went to was dark, so after we took some pictures beforehand I wasn’t concerned about it. Continue reading
Hi guys! A week or so ago I posted about 3 Natural Looking Blushes so today I thought I’d go the other direction and talk about 3 blushes that add a pop of colour to your cheeks. So these are less natural and more pigmented. My choices still do blend beautifully into the skin, they just stand out a little more.
I think this is the only cool toned blush that I own but I love how different it is from the rest of my collection. Rapture is a beautiful deep purply mauve shade and definitely adds a pop of colour to the cheeks! It has a very, very subtle hint of shimmer but I find it looks more matte than anything.
