Love for Lipstick: Essence Lip Products

Essence Lip Products.jpeg

Hi guys! I’m back with another post for my Love for Lipstick Series! For this series, I am hauling, reviewing and comparing various lipsticks from across the board. This is all in an effort of expanding my horizons and trying different brands.

Today, I’m looking at Essence which is a brand I hadn’t previously tried. But since it is the Canadian Beauty Blogger‘s Featured Brand, I thought I would grab some lip products and try them out. It’s a very, very inexpensive brand which, if you’re Canadian, you can find at Shopper’s Drug Mart! I’m not sure which stores sell it in other countries.

4 Eye Makeup Essentials

Eye Makeup Essentials.jpeg

Hi guys! I don’t know about you, but doing my eye makeup is my favourite part of my makeup routine. I love how many vastly different looks you can achieve. It’s the one part of my makeup routine where I can think outside the box and come up with something I haven’t tried before. So, with that said, I thought it would be fun to round-up some of my “can’t live without them” items that are always part of my eye makeup routine.

Eye Shadow Primer

Everyone has different preferences for eye shadow primer (we are all different, after all!) but my personal favourite is the Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer. Experiment and find one that works for you and once you do, you will see a world of difference! A good eye shadow primer should allow your eye makeup to look flawless all day. My eye makeup (unless I was rubbing my eyes, it happens!) always looks the same when I go to take it off before bed. No fading, no creasing, no disappearing eyeshadow! I always take a second to set my primer with a light eye shadow to make blending easier. Continue reading

MOTD: Pop of Purple

Kat Von D Monarch ABH Glow Kit Gleam.jpeg

Hi guys! I know today is normally Mani Monday, but the weather was soooo nice this weekend, I didn’t manage to paint my nails! So, instead, I’m sharing the makeup that I have been wearing today! I realized it’s been awhile since I’ve done a pop of purple under my eye, which is weird considering that’s my favourite look, so I thought I would do just that today!

5 of My Matte “Must-Haves”

Matte Must-Haves.jpg

Hi guys the Canadian Beauty Blogger’s theme for the month of April is Matte Must-Haves and given that I looove mattes I thought I would share a few of my matte favourites! One of the reasons I love mattes is because they are so versatile. I mainly wear mattes on my lips, but given that I have oily skin, I also tend to keep my face matte as well! I always, always have a matte eyeshadow in my crease, but I also enjoy an all-matte all eye look from time-to-time. There is just something so crisp about it!

Before I say everything I want to say in my intro… let’s dive into my picks!

Bite Beauty | Matte Crème Lip Crayon

Bite Beauty Framboise

I have many, many matte lipsticks but I think this is one of my favourite formulas. It feels creamy yet dries down matte and lasts all day. You can see my full review of this product here! I only have one so far but I know I need many, many more! Continue reading

You Make Me Blush Tag

P1010943 (1)

Hi guys! I found this cute tag on the blog Classy on the Run which is very quickly becoming one of my must-reads! You can find her post here!

What blush colour suits you the most?

I tend to wear a lot of peachy blushes! I feel like they add a nice natural glow to my cheeks.

Pressed, cream or loose blush?

Pressed for sure! I don’t have any loose blushes and I tend to favour powders over cream products.

Favourite shimmery blush?

It’s probably a tie between NARS Orgasm and the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow.

Favourite matte blush?

This would hands down be the Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Fetish. It’s such a pretty medium pink-nude. It looks natural, yet looks like you’ve added a little something extra to your cheeks. Continue reading

International Day of Pink

Hi guys! If you’re Canadian you know that today is the International Day of Pink! It is the day where we all stand together against bullying, discrimination, homophobia and transphobia by wearing pink. This day was started by two grade 12 students in Nova Scotia who after seeing a grade 9 student bullied for wearing pink, decided to buy 50 pink shirts to distribute to support the student. You can find out more about this day here!

For the occasion, I thought I would round up some of my past pink looks!

Are you wearing any pink today to support the International Day of Pink? Let me know in the comments down below! As I was writing this last night, I had planned on being all decked out in pink today but unfortunately I’m feeling quite under the weather today so I’m curled up in bed. But, I am wearing pink socks!

xoxo,

Robyn

MOTD: Warm Neutrals

P1020563.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another Makeup of the Day post! I noticed today that when I use my Urban Decay Naked Palette I usually use it more for very light, almost non-existent makeup. I will use a few of the darker shades to add depth to the outer-v of my eye but that’s about it. So, today I decided to venture into just the darker side of the palette and do a warm, darker look using this beautiful neutral palette. I also decided to add a few more products in the mix that I’ve acquired over the past month or so that I haven’t gotten around to testing yet.

2016 Empties (So Far)

P1020540.jpg

Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve done an empties post so I thought I would gather up the empties that I have been hoarding… I mean collecting… over the past few months and chat a bit about them. You can find my last empties post here! There is a few repeats this month from my last post, it just goes to show what I use the most!

Neutrogena | Oil-Free Eye Make-Up Remover

I really enjoyed using this eye makeup remover, it does a great job at removing everything including waterproof mascara. You don’t need to use much of it so it generally lasts a few months. Would I repurchase it? Well, I did repurchase it, and I do use it from time-to-time but I have primarily switched to the Garnier Micellar Water to remove all of my makeup. Continue reading
