The Sephora VIB Sale is still underway but I did my shopping last weekend when the sale started for rouge members. I actually for the most part didn’t stray too far from my list and restrained from purchasing everything on said this. Even though we have just passed Halloween, if you have been in any stores lately it is very evident that Christmas is up next! When I was a kid I would get so excited for Advent Calendar season whether it was a traditional chocolate one or the mini Christmas trees my mom set up for my sister and I where we would get a little ornament each day in December to decorate it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Halloween is my favourite holiday! I just love getting dressed up and going out! It’s so much fun. I usually start thinking about and planning for halloween a few months in advance however with how busy this summer and fall were, I ended up pulling together costumes for myself and my husband less than a week before the event we went to last weekend. I decided to be a devil, which meany my husband ended up being an angel. Considering how little time it took to put together these costumes I’m quite pleased with how they turned out!
The inspiration for the devil costume really does centre around makeup. I wanted to do something dark and a devil was the first thing that came to mind.
I don’t know about you but I am picky when it comes to eyeliner. I want my eyeliners to be pigmented and I want them to glide smoothly across my skin without any tugging. Any eyeliner that can meet these criteria are a win in my books. Esqido recently sent me their Gel Eyeliner Pencils to review in the shades black and brown so I was curious to see how they would fare.
Esqido’s Gel Eyeliner retails for $16 USD (though at the time of writing this they are on special for $12 USD). I was pleasantly surprised to see that my package shipped from Ontario which was nice as it arrived quickly and there weren’t any surprise fees upon delivery. Continue reading
What an unusually busy summer and fall it has been! I have had a super busy last few months but I’m settled into my new house, my makeup is unpacked and I have time to start working on blog content again! Well over a month ago the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Vault Collection finally launched after a controversial delay due to quality control issues. I debated whether or not to jump on board when the collection finally did launch but, controversial or not, I enjoy Jaclyn’s videos and I enjoyed the selection of colours in the palettes. My blog had also just turned 3 so I decided to treat myself. After an evening of cruising YouTube, a video by fellow Canadian Beauty Blogger and superb YouTuber, Chelle of Makeup Your Mind caught my eye. These days a unique video topic on YouTube is pretty far and few between but somehow she always manages to keep it fresh! The video that caught my eye this time was her 5 Neglected Palettes I’m Using This Autumn video. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it. It really got me thinking about my neglected eyeshadow palettes and which ones I am going to make an effort of using more this fall.
The days are getting shorter and the air is getting crisper which means fall (though not officially here) is well underway. Though I don’t really believe in saving makeup for particular seasons I do find my patterns shift as the seasons progress. Mainly I find myself going from my minimal summer routine to one that is more involved and often either warm toned or vampy. I’m excited for this shift as I find fall really represents my favourite time of the year makeup and fashion wise so I thought I’d share with you five lipsticks that I think I’ll have in heavy rotation this fall!
It had been awhile since I saw an eye shadow palette and it really made me feel something. A palette that I was so excited for that I practically counted down the days until it’s release. That was until the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette was finally revealed. This palette just spoke to me. The shade selection felt unique and the purple and pink tones that rule the palette are so very me.
