Mani Monday: Essence Indian Summer

Essence Indian Summer

Hi guys! My nails have been bare for far too long and I finally have gotten around to painting them again! Although the weather currently isn’t suggesting it, it has been much nicer outside lately so I wanted something springy on my nails. I also wanted something that would stand up to chips, so I decided to use one of my Essence ‘gel’ polishes. Thus, we have Essence Indian Summer on my nails! A beautiful peachy coral shade. I have a couple polishes from this line and I’ve been enjoying them. I’ve featured one to date in a Mani Monday. The last one I wore had really great wear time so the bar has been set for this one. Mani Monday: OPI Koala Berry with a Twist

OPI Koala Berry

Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a manicure so I thought it was about time to share my latest. I was trying to plan a manicure for a night out, but I wanted something quick and easy so I went with the classic glitter accent to add a twist. Since spring is starting to show it’s face I thought a nice bright pink would get me into the spirit! So, today I’ve got OPI Koala Berry on my nails with Essie’s Jazzy Jubilant as an accent. Mani Monday: OPI Be a Dahlia Won’t You?

OPI Be a Dahlia Won't You

Hi guys! With Valentine’s Day just one day away I felt compelled to wear a festive pink manicure this week. So today, I’ve dug out OPI Be a Dahlia Won’t You? from their 2011 Nice Stems Collection. It is a sparkly fuchsia shade that just can’t help but catch your eye. I had thought about doing nail art for Valentine’s Day like I did with my Christmas manicures but I just didn’t have the energy to think of something. But, a nice classic pink manicure is always festive and Valentine’s Day appropriate in my books!  Continue reading

Mani Monday: Cult Nails Manipulative

Hi guys! Welcome to another Mani Monday (though we are now past Monday, see below for why this post is late)! Today I’ve got Cult Nails Manipulative on my nails. For those of you who may be unfamiliar, Cult Nails was an indie nail polish brand that was around until they closed their doors in spring of 2015. It’s really too bad because they made some incredible polishes and one of my favourite top coats. Even though it’s harder to get a hold of their polishes, I didn’t want to neglect the ones I have in my collection so I thought I would share it with you anyways. Manipulative is a turquoise/blue shade with a hint of shimmer to it, though on the nails looks more like a cream. It was from their Divas & Drama Collection in 2012, a collection which I purchased in it’s entirety. Continue reading

Mani Monday: OPI DS Mystery

OPI DS Mystery

Hi guys! It’s Mani Monday again and today I have OPI DS Mystery to share with you. I was inspired to dig out this polish after I saw it in a haul over on Helpless Whilst Drying! I’ve had this shade in my collection for a number of years now and it had been neglected. While it is a beautiful polish, I do remember why it has been neglected for so long. Is it just me or do the OPI DS polishes have terrible wear time? Normally I start off my posts with “this week I’m wearing *insert polish here*” but I can’t even say that as I’m typing this with bare nails. It lasted only a day or two before I had major tip wear and then lots of chipping. Continue reading

Mani Monday: All About Nail Polish Tag

All About Nail Polish Tag

Hi guys! Today I wanted to something a little different for Mani Monday so I decided to search the internet for a nail polish tag. I found the All About Nail Polish Tag over on The Polished Pursuit! In my search I think I found another blog that I’m going to need to regularly read so win-win for me!

All About Nail Polish Tag

1. What is your favourite nail polish finish (eg. creme, crelly, glitter, etc)?

Definitely a cream! They are the easiest to apply, never go out of style and easiest to remove! There’s nothing I love more on my nails than a nice glossy cream polish.

Mani Monday: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

Hi guys! Welcome to the first Mani Monday of 2017, kicking off the year I’ve got Revlon Facets of Fuchsia on my nails. This was a limited edition shade from Revlon that I picked up a few bottles of. It was love at first sight and I needed to make sure I had backups! Even so, I haven’t worn this polish in quite some time so I thought it was the perfect time to dig it out. Revlon Facets of Fuchsia is a glitter polish (fuchsia glitter pieces, who’d guess?) suspended in a black jelly base. My preferred way of wearing it is layered over a black cream polish to add opacity. Revlon Facets of Fuchsia is actually a dupe of Deborah Lippmann’s Bad Romance which appears to also be discontinued.

OPI Nail Envy Maintenance (1 coat)
OPI Black Onyx (1 coat)

Mani Monday: OPI Glacier Bay Blues & Comet in the Sky

OPI Glacier Bay Blues

Hi guys! Today’s manicure features OPI Glacier Bay Blues. A long discontinued polish that holds a special place in my collection. This polish is so old in fact it’s the old OPI formula and has the old smaller brush. I purchased this polish about 4 or 5 years ago, already discontinued at that time. I had been searching for it as I had seen it on tv and fell in love with the blue shade. The picture doesn’t pick it up but there are flashes of teal in it as well. OPI Glacier Bay Blues is from the 2004 Canadian Collection.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy (original)
OPI Glacier Bay Blues (2 coats)
OPI Comet in the Sky (2 coats, ring fingers only)

Mani Monday: Santa Suit Accents

Holiday Manicure Santa Suit Accents

Hi guys! I have my third and final Christmas manicure for you today and it features some Santa suit accents! I’ve seen this manicure all over Pinterest and I couldn’t wait to try it out for myself. I can’t believe this is my last Mani Monday before Christmas. But, I’m excited to get back to doing some every day manicures and nail art. The accent nails were not super time consuming so you could give each nail a Santa suit if you are so inclined.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy in Maintenance
OPI I’m Not Really a Waitress (2 coats)
OPI Alpine Snow (ring fingers only)
