Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose

maison jacynthe eau florale de rose

Hi guys! I reviewed a few Maison Jacynthe makeup items a few weeks ago and today I’ve got a skincare item that they also sent to me for review. It is their lovely Eau Florale de Rose, or in English… Rose water! What drew me to this item is that I don’t really have any facial mists that I use and I enjoy trying out new things. So, let’s take a look at this Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose!

First off, I love the smell of this product. It truly smells like beautiful roses. Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. We had a rose bush in my backyard and I loved to pick the pedals and put them in water to make my own “perfume”. When I spritz this on my face, I feel like I’m being transported back in time. Mani Monday: Christmas Tree Manicure

christmas tree manicure

Hi guys! I’m trying really hard to get into the festive, Christmas spirit this year. So much so that I did this Christmas tree manicure to try to lift my spirits. While I do enjoy Christmas, I find this time of the year way too busy. Considering how much of an introvert I am this time of the year makes me a bit anxious. But, my tree is up, my nails are festive and I’m looking forward to giving thoughtful gifts to the people I care about. So, lets take a look at how I did this Christmas tree manicure! Weekly Post Recap: November 28 to December 3, 2016

Hi guys! And, hello December! Another busy week has come to an end, and I’m attempting to get into the holiday spirit! It just doesn’t feel like it’s the holiday season yet! I think it’s because it feels like the fall just blew by so my brain is still in September. Also could be the crazy amounts of rain we got on Monday and the flood warnings we had. The snow mostly melted away but it seems to be coming back today. Anyways, if you missed any posts this week, you will find links to them all right here!

Colourpop Haul: Trying New Things!

colourpop-haul

Hi guys! If you’ve been here before, you’ll know that I love Colourpop! A few weeks ago they had a free international shipping promo with no minimum so I took that as an opportunity to order a few items. I decided to stick to products I haven’t tried of theirs, so I picked up a highlighter and a few of their gel eye liners! Items that I have had my eye on, but previously had been sidetracked by a wealth of lip products. As of writing this post, I haven’t tried these products on my face yet so in this post you’ll hear my first impressions from swatching them. I’ll do some full reviews once I’ve familiarized myself with everything, and of course, you’ll probably see them in a makeup look or two before that 😉

Colourpop | Hippo Highligher

colourpop-hippo-highlighter

I’ve had my eye on Colourpop’s highlighters for quite some time but when I saw the shade Hippo, I finally decided to take the plunge. This icy lavender shade is very unique to my collection and I can’t wait to wear it. The texture is similar to Colourpop’s eye shadows in that they have the unique spongey/creamy texture. My swatch does not do it justice!

November Happiness Highlights

happiness-highlights

Hi guys! I saw Happiness Highlights on two blogs that I read regularly, Stash Matters and Polished and Inspired and I loved the idea so much, I had to hop on the bandwagon too! Since I knew November was going to be an eventful month I thought it would be the perfect one to try this out with! My everyday life is pretty quiet, but through this task, I really thought long and hard about finding the happiness each day.

Tuesday, November 1

caribou-crab-cakes

My husband got some really great work-related news, so we went out to the Caribou for dinner to celebrate! AND crab cakes were back on the menu and they were delicious! They did change them up a bit, they used to come with a spicy sauce, they have changed it up and have done a dill pickle tartare. I really enjoyed them, but I do still miss and prefer the original.

Wednesday, November 2

I finished reading I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh! I haven’t been reading as much as I usually do so finishing this gave me a sense of accomplishment… plus it was a good read!

Thursday, November 3

cindy-loo-hoos

Went out for lunch with a co-worker to Cindy Loohoo’s as an early birthday outing! Their soup of the week was borscht and it was soooo good!

Friday, November 4

Finished watching Stranger Things with my husband, we really enjoyed it! Can’t wait for season two.

Saturday, November 5

I can’t pick just one so I’m just going to recap my day… Went out for brunch with my husband and I tried the Brunch Poutine from Daytona’s. It was good but I still miss Made Fresh and their Breakfast Poutine (RIP 😢).

Then I went to watch my little brother play hockey and his team won! After that I went for dinner with my family to Chinese Express as an early birthday dinner. My sister spoiled me with some new makeup and the rest of my family spoiled me with a Sephora e-gift card so I partook in some VIB sale haulage.

Then finally, I went out with a few of my friends to celebrate my last moments of 26 and the first moments of 27! We ate some delicious wings and had a great time. Continue reading

November Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

november-favourites

Hi guys! November was such a busy, but such a wonderful month! I turned 27, I went to three amazing concerts and of course, there was the Sephora VIB sale! I’m quite sad to see this November go, but at least it’s time to chat about the products that knocked my socks off this month. I feel like this month brought along a lot of “instant favourites”. As you will notice through reading this post, it is very makeup-heavy… as in… all makeup.

Makeup

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Liquid Lipstick in Crush

I usually like owning an item for an entire month before I call it a favourite, but I’ve been wearing this shade almost every day since it arrived as part of my VIB sale haul. I just love the shade so much and the wear-time is pretty fantastic! It survived eating greasy, cheesy jalapeno poppers so that’s at least an “A” in my books!

Maison Jacynthe | Blush in Romeo

maison-jacynthe-blush-01-romeo

I talked about this blush when I did my post on Maison Jacynthe and out of all the products mentioned in that post, this one was a cut above the rest in my opinion. I love how pigmented this blush is, while still being incredibly blendable. Continue reading

Quick Out & About Makeup Look

quick out & about makeup look abh-modern-renaissance

Hi guys! Today I thought I would share with you a quick out & about makeup look I did yesterday before going out to run errands. If I don’t have a lot of time, I usually just go out without any makeup on, but sometimes I prefer looking a bit more polished. Particularly since I live in a small city so when I go out to run errands, I’m bound to run into at least a few people that I know.

Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 (Colour 1)

natasha-denona-eyeshadow-palette-5-colour-1-review

Hi guys! This is my last eye shadow palette from my birthday hauls (birthday and VIB sale) and I saved the most luxurious for last, the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 (Colour 1). I’d had my eye on Natasha Denona eyeshadow palettes for quite some time now and with the VIB sale, I had all the convincing that I needed to pull the trigger.

natasha-denona-eyeshadow-palette-5-colour-1

Though pickings were slimming during the VIB sale, I ended up choosing Colour 1 out of all of the Natasha Denona Eyeshadow Palette 5 options available. I wanted something with an interesting and unique colour selection. This particular palette contains one matte shade and four shimmers. The first three shades are more shimmery and satiny and the last one is more of a glitter.
