Mani Monday: Spring/Easter

P1020481.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday and today I’ve done a Spring/Easter theme. Although we got a ton of snow last week, I am ready for spring so I decided to use some pastel shades and added some polkadots in the mix.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts (2 coats plus polka dots)
OPI Do You Lilac It? (2 coats plus polka dots)
OPI Polka.com (2 coats)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat)

I am really happy with how this turned out, I love combining grey with a purple pastel. The colours compliment each other so well.

What do you have on your nails today? Let me know in the comments down below!

xoxo,

Robyn

Ipsy Glam Bag: March

P1020484

Hi guys! I recently received my second Ipsy Glam Bag in the mail! I saw that it was shipping and kind of forgot about it, so it was a bit of a surprise when I saw it sitting in my mailbox. It arrived shockingly fast! Despite lots of emails from Ipsy tempting me to look at sneak peaks, I stayed away and let it be a surprise. If you would like to see my previous Ipsy Bag you can check it out here!

Let’s dive into what I got this month…

MAC Pro Palette Refill Pans Haul

P1020457.jpg

Hi guys! I recently found out that MAC has reduced the price of their Pro Palette Refill Eyeshadow Pans from $12 to $8 which I thought was pretty great. I like buying the refill pans to put into my Z-Palette, rather than buying the shadows in the plastic casing for $19. They also have a promotion going on until Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 11:59 pm for free express shipping (no minimum) if you use the code “MACEXP” at the checkout. Given both of these factors I decided to pick up a few shades that I had been eyeing up!

St. Patrick’s Day Makeup for Every Day

P1020454.jpg

Hi guys! Since St. Patrick’s Day is a workday if you work a 9-5 Monday to Friday job and you’re not on March Break I thought I would do a look that allows you to incorporate some green into your look without going over-the-top. All I did was one of my typical matte natural eye looks but added a pop of green under the eye. I’m really happy with how it turned out! If you’re looking for something a little more green, I did post a more green eye look a few months ago here!

Foundation: L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation in Classic Ivory

Powder: Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and Maybelline Matte + Poreless Translucent Powder
Blush: Urban Decay After-Glow Blush in Rapture
Contour: Anastasia Beverly Hills Fawn
Highlight: theBalm’s Mary Lou-Manizer
Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer. Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Palette – Samael (crease and outer v) and Laetus (all over lid). Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow – Fantasy (inner lower eye) and Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette – Grasshopper (outer lower eye). I think this is a very work appropriate, yet fun look to do if you are stuck at work for St. Patrick’s Day! You could really add a pop of any colour to this look for any occasion. I personally love using purple under the eye with a neutral look like this (huge surprise, I know!).

Do you have any fun looks planned for St. Patrick’s Day? Let me know in the comments down below!

Mani Monday: St. Patrick’s Day Edition

P1020444.jpg

Hi guys! I don’t really go out of my way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day, but I do partake in the tradition of wearing green and I usually incorporate it into that week’s manicure. This year I didn’t really feel like going too fancy, as it is hard to paint your nails when there are four dogs in the house (2 of my own, dog-sitting 2) so I went pretty basic and did green with a gold accent nail.

Products Used:

OPI Chip Skip
OPI Nail Envy Original (1 coat)
OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window (2 coats on all fingers except ring fingers)
OPI Goldeneye (3 coats on ring fingers only)
Glisten & Glow HK Girl Fast Drying Top Coat (1 coat) Continue reading

Love for Lipstick: NARS vs. Bite Beauty

P1020442.jpg

Hi guys! As you may already know, I started up my new Love for Lipstick Series. In case you missed it, you can find the my “round one” haul here! So today I wanted to do a comparison post and take a look at two of the matte lip pencils that I hauled. The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and the Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon. I thought this was a good place to start as they are both high end matte lip pencils. So for this post you’re going to go on a journey with me through two normal work days and we will see how each product held up! Neither product was touched up at all throughout the day. Continue reading

Review: St.Ive’s Green Tea Scrub

P1020398.jpg

Hi guys! Today I’ve got a skincare review for you. I recently purchased the St. Ive’s Green Tea Scrub in my last Drugstore Haul so after using it for a few weeks I am ready to tell you what I think of it.

This scrub has a very interesting texture. It is as if a clay mask and an exfoliating scrub combined into one. I find it is very gentle to use and does a great job at keeping my pores clean. As well, it helps buff off any dry patches that this lovely winter may have caused. The exfoliation factor chart on the back labels it as moderate (on a scale of gentle, moderate and deep). I still find it quite gentle though but I do not have sensitive skin.

Mani Monday

P1020405.jpg

Hi guys! I’m back with another Mani Monday! I feel like I’m getting more inspired to paint my nails again. There was awhile where my nails were in such bad shape that I just didn’t enjoy it. Everything was chipping because of how much my nails were peeling. They still need a bit more TLC but I think they are improving. Plus, I’m keeping them shorter, or at least trying to. They grow so fast!! Continue reading

Snapshot Sunday + Weekly Post Recap

Hi guys! Where did this weekend go and how is it Sunday evening already?

I didn’t really take any pictures this week either! Not that I did much throughout the week… I worked, as usual, went to the gym a few times with one of my best friends and started playing Zelda Wind Waker (again). My husband was away for work for the week so I enjoyed gaming on the big tv while he was gone.

He got back on Friday so we went out with one of our best friends. We were going to go to the Sovereign Room but by the time we got out (after having a few drinks at my house and watching some YouTube videos) it was pretty packed in there. So, we walked a bit further and went to On Deck. It was pretty busy there too but there were tables free so we stayed there. I must say, this was the first time I have walked in there and felt old. The crowd seemed younger than usual. But, we enjoyed some nachos and some roasted red pepper wings before calling it a night. I did run into one of my friends that I haven’t seen in awhile there so that was great! You can always count on running into someone you know there. All in all it was a fun night! Continue reading

February Favourites

P1020391.jpg

Hi guys! Today I am going to be sharing my favourites for the month of February with you! I can’t believe that it is March now. I don’t know where February went. I feel like I say this every month but February went even faster! I’m doing my favourites once again with a video and I’ve kept it short and sweet. I like to keep my list of favourites short and only talk about the products that have really stood out above the rest.
