Tony Moly I’m Real Avocado Mask Sheet

Tony Moly I'm Real Avocado Mask Sheet

Winter hit Thunder Bay pretty hard yesterday. It started off raining and then turned into icy/snowy/windy mayhem. I actually thought that my house was going to blow over. All I wanted to do was come home and relax in bed with a nice sheet mask, so that is exactly what I did last night. I’ve had the Tony Moly I’m Real Avocado Mask Sheet in my stash since my trip to Ulta in July so I thought I’d try that one. It is formulated with avocado extract to deliver nutrients deep into the face.

Tony Moly I'm Real Avocado Mask Sheet

First of all, I found that the Tony Moly I’m Real Avocado Mask Sheet fit SO much better than the last one that I tried. So strange since I bought them both at the same time. Everything aligned perfect on my face and it was very comfortable. I wore it for about 20 minutes. The mask itself did have a tear on it, I’m not sure if it was already torn or if I was too aggressive taking it out of the packaging. This didn’t really affect it’s performance at all though. BioBelle #Decadence Sheet Mask

BioBelle #Decadence Sheet Mask

As you may know, my birthday recently passed, so I thought there was no better time to treat myself to the BioBelle #Decadence Sheet Mask that I purchased on one of my trips to Ulta during the summer. I don’t really eat cupcakes at all so I thought it would be fitting to try the face mask version instead! The BioBelle #Decadence Sheet Mask aims to hydrate and vitalize the skin. The chocolate is high in anti-oxidants which softens the skin and helps hydrate it. The acai berry both helps retain moisture and fights off the line-causing free radicals. Continue reading

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask

Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask

Masks have become a recent staple in my skincare routine, particularly sheet masks. They are quick and simple and make minimal mess. When I was recently sent a few Garnier skincare products to try, I was most excited to try out the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask. It promises to make your skin softer and more radiant by deeply moisturizing.

Garnier Skinactive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask

The first thing that I noticed about the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask is that it is by-far the best fitting face mask I have ever tried. It felt like it fit my face like a glove. Since it fit so well it felt comfortable for the entire time it was on my face. I wore this mask for about fifteen minutes. Continue reading

October Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

October Favourites

With October quickly coming to a close I’m excited to share with you a few items that I could not put down this past month. As always, these posts are typically a little more makeup-heavy as that is usually what excites me most in this vast world of beauty. Of course some of these are tried and true favourites, and may even be repeats, but lets dive into what I enjoyed using the most this month.

Too Faced | Flushed Blush in How Deep is Your Love?

This is definitely nothing new but I have been wearing Too Faced’s How Deep is Your Love? a lot lately. It just gives me the perfect cheek colour and compliments my skin tone quite well. I don’t see it listed anymore on the Sephora website so I really hope it isn’t discontinued! I do see it on the Too Faced website though. Continue reading

Sephora Rose Lip Mask

Sephora Rose Lip Mask

Hi guys! My lips have been feeling mega-dried out and scaley lately since apparently the weather has decided to remind us, here in Thunder Bay, that winter is right around the corner. With temperatures suddenly in the minuses my lips felt like they could use a little extra TLC. That’s when I remembered that Sephora had sent me their Rose Lip Mask as part of my invitation package to their opening party in July.

The Sephora Rose Lip Mask is meant for moisturizing and softening which is essentially what my lips were begging for. It claims to, in only fifteen minutes, moisturize, replenish and nourish the lips. The packaging is a bit of a challenge to open and the mask itself almost went flying but, I managed to get it on my lips rather than the floor with some patience and care. Continue reading

SNP Rabbit Brightening Mask

SNP Rabbit Brightening Mask

Hi guys! I hauled the SNP Rabbit Brightening Mask Sheet back in July when I went to Ulta and I’ve finally gotten around to using it. It was just so adorable looking I kept saving it but, there is no time like the present to try it out! The mask promises to replenish the skin making it softer and more luminous, as well as hydrate and brighten up an uneven skin tone. To be honest, I mostly chose this mask because it had a rabbit on it but, I wouldn’t say no to brighter skin.

One of the things I really enjoyed about the mask is that it fit my face quite well. Unlike the last sheet mask that I tried, I had no issues with the placement of the eyeholes on the SNP Rabbit Brightening Mask Sheet. Continue reading

Q3 Empties: July to September 2017

Q3 Empties

Hi guys! With Q3 complete it’s time to take a look at the empties that I have amassed over the last few months. There’s a few repeats this time around, as well as a whole bunch of mascara. I cleaned/organized my vanity the other day and found a bunch of mascaras that I thought I had already thrown out so I figured I might as well add those in here too! As you may recall, I’ve had my quarters mixed up this year so this post is a bit light as I had a few items in my last post that probably should have been in this one.

Rimmel | Shake it Fresh Mascara

I don’t really want to talk too much about this one as I did a full review of it here. I got it as part of an Influenster campaign and I hated it. I have barely used it but, I just can’t. It’s terrible. It didn’t flake or smudge, but the formula gave absolutely no volume to my lashes. They just kind of stuck straight out. Would I repurchase it? No way. With so many mascara choices out there, this is a hard pass.

Revlon | Dramatic Definition Mascara (Waterproof)

I gave the original version of the Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara a very positive review, however, when I went to repurchase it I accidentally bought the waterproof version. I don’t really wear waterproof mascaras and don’t particularly enjoy removing them so I hardly ever knowingly purchase them. I kind of just forgot I owned it as I didn’t really enjoy using it. Would I repurchase it? No, but I’d go back to the regular version. Continue reading

Fresh Rose Face Mask

Fresh Rose Face Mask

Hi guys! In an effort to continue pampering my skin with weekly(ish) masking sessions, the most recent one that I have tried is the Fresh Rose Face Mask. I believe I got this as part of a Sephora point redemption in a Fresh set. Suitable for all skin types this skin hydrates, tones and soothes the skin. It contains both rosewater and real rose petals. Continue reading

Tony Moly I’m Real Red Wine Mask Sheet

Tony Moly I'm Real Red Wine Mask Sheet

Hi guys! It’s been a little bit since I last posted about a face mask but I’ve finally taken some time to relax and put on a face mask so I thought I’d share some of my thoughts with you. This time I have tried the Tony Moly I’m Real Red Wine Mask Sheet. As a lover of red wine, I couldn’t possibly pass up this sheet mask. This mask is formulated with, you guessed it, red wine extract which reduces the appearance of large pores while it both tightens and purifies the skin. Now, as a disclaimer, I did do the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment first to help extract the gunk from my pores, as they needed some serious TLC.

The first thing I noticed about the Tony Moly I’m Real Red Wine Mask Sheet is that it is definitely not cut to fit comfortably on my face. I’m not sure if my face was too large, or if the holes just didn’t align, but something just wasn’t right. As a result, it bunched up in a few areas. This made it kind of awkward feeling to wear for an extended period of time. I wore this mask for about 20-30 minutes. Continue reading

Farmacy Honey Potion

Farmacy Honey Potion

Hi guys! I’ve been making an effort to do a face mask a week as part of my skincare routine so I’ve been really enjoying trying out different ones that I’ve acquired over the past while. Today I’m sharing my recent experience with the Farmacy Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask with you. I picked this up with some Sephora points with another Farmacy product but this was my first time using it. Farmacy is a brand I had been wanting to try for awhile so I was eager to try this out (as well as the Sleep Tight Balm which I’ve recently emptied 💔).

Farmacy Honey Potion

When first applied the Farmacy Honey Potion feels exactly like you would think… sticky like sweet honey. I globbed (that’s the best word I can think of) it all over my face and instantly felt a warming sensation. After snapping a quick picture, I started to massage it into my face as the instructions indicate for 1 to 2 minutes. It continued to warm and transformed into a white cream. The packaging said it would change but I was pretty surprised with how much it transformed (second photo below). After I was done massaging it into my face I let it sit for 15 minutes before removing it. The last photo below is right before I rinsed it off. Continue reading
