MOTD: Mad About Matte

Mad About Matte

Hi guys! Today I thought it would be fun to show off my matte makeup look that I’m rocking today. I very rarely rock a matte eye makeup look but I wanted something quick and simple today as I was heading out to get my hair done. The only shine I’ve added to this look is my highlight and a shimmery blush. Though I mostly show it on my lips, I am definitely mad about matte!

Holiday Look: Valentine’s Day

Hi guys! With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I thought it was appropriate to bust out my holiday looks series again. For today’s look I decided to create a look using my Valentine’s Day present from my husband last year (Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette) and put together a festive pink look! When I think of Valentine’s Day I just want to slather myself in pink! My apologies in advance for the photos being a bit out of focus, this is apparently what happens when I try to squeeze in a photoshoot before work… But, I think you can at least see the basics of the look!

Lorac Pro Palette

Lorac Pro Palette

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you a review, swatches and a look using the Lorac Pro Eye Palette. In the summer I had picked up the Lorac Pro 2 Palette, about a month ago my parents gifted me the original as a thank you for animal-sitting for them (thank you!!!). Now, you may be thinking, another neutral palette?! Why would one need another neutral palette? If you have tried Lorac’s eye shadow you will understand why. I have never experienced eye shadow like this. Continue reading

Simple Cut Crease: KathleenLights Collabs Focused Look

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share with you the details of the look that I posted last weekend on Instagram of a look I did mainly using products that KathleenLights collaborated on with companies. I did the look in celebration of her birthday weekend which is why it is focused around her products. In case you didn’t figure it out,  I’m a huge fan of her channel and the collaborations that she has done. I’ve purchased quite a few of them and I have yet to find one that wasn’t worth it. January Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

January Favourites

Hi guys! I can’t believe January is done and we are 1/12 through 2017! January was a great month though, I got back into a workout routine (after Christmas derailed the routine I got into in early December), there were quite a few celebrations over the course of the month and though it was stressful at times, I persevered. As I made my way through January there was, as always, particular products that I reached for most and truly were my favourites of the month. So, let’s chat about my January Favourites. Hail Cosmetics Fawn

Hi guys! Today I have a super excited Love for Lipstick post for you today! Not only is it my first of 2017, but it also is a local product! Today we’re looking at Hail Cosmetics, an independent cosmetics company based right here in Thunder Bay. Their products are not only hand-crafted but are also cruelty-free. At the moment their lineup is a range of Eternal Matte Lipsticks which are available in Thunder Bay at Mars Clothing, or on their website. At this time shipping is only available to Canada. I was lucky enough to get the shade Fawn for Christmas from one of my best friends. I had been meaning to pick one of these up but just hadn’t had a chance to yet. Continue reading

Makeup Geek Haul

Makeup Geek Haul

Hi guys! Today I have a Makeup Geek haul for you! Around the holidays they had a sale on quite a few of their items so I thought that was the perfect opportunity to pick up a few more of their products. I already own and love quite a few of their foiled eye shadows but I had always been meaning to try more. With the Canadian dollar and cost of shipping what it currently is, I was holding out for some kind of sale. Makeup Geek is already a very reasonably priced and quality brand though. For this haul, I picked up the Kathleenlights Highlighter Palette (Kathleenlights AND highlighters? How could I not?) and a few of their eye shadow pans and a blush! Continue reading

Warm & Dramatic Makeup Look

Hi guys! I posted a picture of this warm & dramatic makeup look on Instagram on Saturday as it was what I wore out that evening. Since the photo seemed to be well received I thought I would share more details on that look with you today! Last Saturday I was going out to celebrate a birthday so I thought I would take a stab at the ever dreaded winged eye liner which I have about a 50% success rate with. After a bit of tweaking and evening, I managed to pull off wings that were relatively similar. When I do winged liner, my preference is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner as that style of applicator seems to work best for me. Continue reading
