Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Hi guys! Boy has this post about the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette been a long time coming. I’ve been working on this post for pretty close to a month now! Because of that, there have been changes in my equipment so my apologies in advance for the inconsistency in the photos. Anyways, from the moment the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette was announced, I knew it had to be mine. There was no question about it. It’s beautiful, it smells delicious and anything peach holds a very special place in my heart (more on that at the end of this post). I missed out on it the first time because I was about 15 minutes too late, but this time I snagged it right away! For this post I’ve pulled together four looks using the palette, which is mainly why this post took so long.

When opening up the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, the first thing you notice is the sweet sugary peach scent. Continue reading

Raspberrymint Sweet Lips

Raspberrymint Sweet Lips

Hi guys! Today I’ve got an exciting product review for you today. As a lover of matte lipsticks, I use a LOT of lip balm before application and when I go to bed at night. Lip balm is essential in my routine to keep my lips soft and prevent the dryness associated with matte lipstick. Cherish, the creator of Raspberrymint, kindly sent me two of her Sweet Lips to review. Considering how much I use lip balm, I was definitely up to the task of testing these out!

For those of you unfamiliar with the brand, Raspberrymint is a Canadian company with a focus on products that moisturize, nourish and hydrate which in turn promotes healthy looking skin and lips! They are cruelty-free and paraben-free.

Raspberrymint Sweet Lips

I was sent two of the Raspberrymint Sweet Lips in the scents Passion Fruit and Blueberry. Not that I recommend eating them (though it’s likely at least safe to injest), but they smell/taste delicious! It is formulated without artificial colours, fragrance and synthetic preservatives. Best of 2016: Most Worn Lipsticks

Most Worn Lipsticks 2016

Hi guys! Since lipstick is something that I wear every single day, I thought it would be fun to look back at the ones I reached for the most this year. While I enjoy changing up my lipstick, there is a few that stood out in the pack and were clearly favoured.

Marc Jacobs | Le Marc Crème Lipstick in J’Adore

Most Worn Lipsticks Marc Jacobs J'Adore

It should be no surprise that this lipstick made the list of my most worn lipsticks. Marc Jacobs’ J’Adore was also on my list of game changers this year. This rum raisin shade looks lovely with a warm makeup look which is what I wore most of the year.

Colourpop | Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Beeper

Most Worn Lipsticks Colourpop Beeper

One of my favourite liquid lipsticks to wear this year was Colourpop’s Beeper. It’s a lovely greige rose shade. I love the wear time of this liquid lipstick and I don’t find it too drying. Though, keep in mind, I have a high tolerance for liquid lipsticks. Continue reading

Q4 Empties: Skincare, Makeup & Hair

Q4 Empties

Hi guys! It’s time for my last empties post of the year and I feel like it’s a decently sized one. I’m really glad I decided to break these up by quarter as I don’t use up enough stuff do to monthly posts. Quarterly seems a lot more satisfying to post! So, let’s check out the products I managed to finish up over the last quarter!

Skincare

Q4 Empties Skincare

Garnier | SkinActive Micellar Water (waterproof makeup version)

I’ve talked about this product quite a few times over the course of the past year, it even got it’s own review! Therefore, I’m not really going to say too much about it.

Would I repurchase? Yes!

St. Ives | Green Tea Scrub

Another product that has received it’s own review so again I won’t say much more about it. You can find my full post here!

Would I repurchase? Yes!

St. Ives | Revitalizing Pear & Soy Hydrating Body Wash

While this scrub was pleasant to work with, I didn’t really enjoy the scent. I found it a very fake sickly sweet pear scent. I usually love pear everything but this was definitely a pass for me. This bottle lasted me forever which I appreciated, but I think I’ll be going back to my Bath & Body Works Body Wash!

Would I repurchase? No! Continue reading

Best of 2016: The Game Changers

Best of 2016 Game Changers

Hi guys! I don’t know about you but I am thrilled to see the end of 2016. It’s been a really tough year on my friends and family and I’m ready for what I hope to be a better 2017. But, since the year is coming to an end, it is also time to look back and acknowledge some game changing beauty products that for me were the best of 2016. These products may not all be new releases to 2016 but they were products that were new to me and were, you guessed it, game changing. I’m not going to go over every makeup category as I recently did the Ride or Die Makeup Tag which goes over general favourites for each category (new and old). So without further ado… here are my best of 2016 choices!

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Dipbrow (Taupe)

I recently gave this brow pomade a glowing review and for good reason. Though it came into my life later in 2016, it really changed my brow game for the better. I never really felt confident in my brow abilities, but when I wear this I feel like my brows look their best. Definitely up high on my best of 2016 list!

Marc Jacobs Beauty | Le Marc Crème Lipstick (J’Adore)

I reviewed this lipstick as part of my Love for Lipstick series and it was an instant favourite. I love the shade and I love the formula. The wear time and comfort of this lipstick, to me, are amazing. I’ll definitely be grabbing more shades from this line in the years to come. Personally, I find them a worthy investment. Holiday Look: Christmas Eve

Hi guys! For today’s holiday look, it’s also a makeup of the day post as I’m sharing what I am wearing for Christmas Eve. I have a family dinner tonight so I decided to do another festive look for the occasion. I say festive or holiday look loosely, as I’d wear most of these looks any time, but I find they all work well for the holiday season. I’ve been dying to use the shade Smashlee in the Violet Voss x Laura Lee Palette and just haven’t gotten around to it, so today seemed like the perfect time.

December Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

Hi guys! I debated doing a December favourites post since I’ll be doing some best of 2016 posts next week, but I couldn’t pass this up. My best of 2016 posts focus on the whole year but there were some products that I’ve been loving a ton this month that I just had to tell you about as part of a December favourites post. So, this post is a bit early compared to my normal timing of these posts so that you aren’t inundated with favourites next week!

Makeup

Colourpop | Creme Gel Liner in Mr. Bing

I’ve been really loving the formula of Colourpop’s Creme Gel Liners but so far the standout, for me, is Mr. Bing. This warm brown looks very striking with green eyes and I find it works with a lot of my everyday makeup looks. Formula-wise, it is pigmented, smooth to apply (minimal tugging) and long-wearing!

Tarte | Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed

I’ve been wearing Exposed a LOT lately. I find it goes so well with most of my makeup looks. Particularly when I don’t want my blush to stand out much but still want some colour in my cheeks. This shade looks lovely on, blends out well and is long-wearing. Continue reading

Holiday Look: Classic Red Lip

Hi guys! Today’s holiday look encompasses one of my favourite parts of this time of year, a classic red lip. And of course, for this I had to use one of my favourite reds, Too Faced Melted Matte in Lady Balls. I get so many compliments when I wear this colour and I definitely wear it more than ever during the holidays. Each time I wear it, I secretly hope that someone asks me what colour I’m wearing because this shade has such a great name. The looks I get when I say I’m wearing “Lady Balls” makes it so worth it.

Classic Red Lip Too Faced Lady Balls Continue reading
