April Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

April Favourites

Hi guys! April was kind of a quiet blogging month, I kept meaning to get posts up but time just kept slipping away. Makeup-wise, it was another simple month. I kept it pretty neutral and simple most of the month so I don’t have tooooo many favourites to chat about today. A few are old favourites that continue to be favourites!

Makeup

Lorac | Pro Palette 2

Lorac Pro 2 Palette

I’ve mentioned this for sure in previous favourites, but this past month it was my go-to, every day palette. I was mostly using the shades Nectar (transition), Lt. Brown (crease) and Beige (all over lid). I can’t speak enough for how wonderful this palette is to work with. The shadows are just so great! They kick off quite a bit of powder, but they blend and apply like a dream. Continue reading

Q1 Empties: January to April 2017

Hi guys! I’m back today with my first empties post of 2017! Can you believe we are nearly through with Q1 already? Time is just flying this year and I have a feeling it is going to continue on this way. So, today I have a fairly decent sized empties post for you. I find the quarterly format really works best for the pace in which I finish things. So here we go…

March Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

March Favourites

Hi guys! Despite things being a little quiet over here, I still do have some favourite products that I used over and over during the month of March. I feel like March flew by faster than any other month of my life. With that said, I am looking forward to some hopefully nicer weather and am welcoming April with open arms.

March Favourites Makeup

Urban Decay | Naked Palette

I’ve probably mentioned this in a favourites post before but I honestly think I wore this palette almost every day this past month. That is, unless I had some kind of special event to go to, or I was feeling particularly creative. You can find the default look that I’ve been regularly wearing here! Continue reading

January Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

January Favourites

Hi guys! I can’t believe January is done and we are 1/12 through 2017! January was a great month though, I got back into a workout routine (after Christmas derailed the routine I got into in early December), there were quite a few celebrations over the course of the month and though it was stressful at times, I persevered. As I made my way through January there was, as always, particular products that I reached for most and truly were my favourites of the month. So, let’s chat about my January Favourites. Q4 Empties: Skincare, Makeup & Hair

Q4 Empties

Hi guys! It’s time for my last empties post of the year and I feel like it’s a decently sized one. I’m really glad I decided to break these up by quarter as I don’t use up enough stuff do to monthly posts. Quarterly seems a lot more satisfying to post! So, let’s check out the products I managed to finish up over the last quarter!

Skincare

Q4 Empties Skincare

Garnier | SkinActive Micellar Water (waterproof makeup version)

I’ve talked about this product quite a few times over the course of the past year, it even got it’s own review! Therefore, I’m not really going to say too much about it.

Would I repurchase? Yes!

St. Ives | Green Tea Scrub

Another product that has received it’s own review so again I won’t say much more about it. You can find my full post here!

Would I repurchase? Yes!

St. Ives | Revitalizing Pear & Soy Hydrating Body Wash

While this scrub was pleasant to work with, I didn’t really enjoy the scent. I found it a very fake sickly sweet pear scent. I usually love pear everything but this was definitely a pass for me. This bottle lasted me forever which I appreciated, but I think I’ll be going back to my Bath & Body Works Body Wash!

Would I repurchase? No! Continue reading

December Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

Hi guys! I debated doing a December favourites post since I’ll be doing some best of 2016 posts next week, but I couldn’t pass this up. My best of 2016 posts focus on the whole year but there were some products that I’ve been loving a ton this month that I just had to tell you about as part of a December favourites post. So, this post is a bit early compared to my normal timing of these posts so that you aren’t inundated with favourites next week!

Makeup

Colourpop | Creme Gel Liner in Mr. Bing

I’ve been really loving the formula of Colourpop’s Creme Gel Liners but so far the standout, for me, is Mr. Bing. This warm brown looks very striking with green eyes and I find it works with a lot of my everyday makeup looks. Formula-wise, it is pigmented, smooth to apply (minimal tugging) and long-wearing!

Tarte | Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed

I’ve been wearing Exposed a LOT lately. I find it goes so well with most of my makeup looks. Particularly when I don’t want my blush to stand out much but still want some colour in my cheeks. This shade looks lovely on, blends out well and is long-wearing. Continue reading

Eden’s Semilla Vitamin E & Jojoba Oil

Hi guys! Eden’s Semilla was kind enough to send me two of their 100% natural oils for review. Going into this, I hadn’t really used oils all that much. I’d used a few samples here and there but never had fully committed myself to testing out an oil. The two that I was sent were the Vitamin E Oil and the Jojoba Oil. Eden’s Semilla was originally formed in the United States.

Now, let’s dive into these lovely oils…

Eden’s Semilla | Vitamin E Oil

The Vitamin E oil was the first one that I started testing. Made from a blend of their Jojoba Oil and Rosehip Oil, the product delivers an excellent consistency for application. It is the thinner product of the two oils and very versatile. Some of the benefits I’ve seen from it is a hydrated face and hydrated cuticles which is so important at this time of the year. It also absorbs quickly into the skin so that you are not left with a greasy residue. Any dryness that the winter weather has thrown my way has been repaired.

When using this oil while applying foundation, which is honestly something that scared me a bit before, I find that my skin has a natural glow and I don’t get greasy. If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I have oily skin so I really was impressed and how this didn’t negatively affect my foundation. While I haven’t had any sunburns in a long time, this product is also supposed to be excellent for proving relief from them.

Some of the ways I’ve enjoying using this product:

  • All over my face either on it’s own or prior to applying my nightly moisturizer
  • On my cuticles
  • A drop added to my makeup sponge prior to blending foundation for a natural glow

Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose

maison jacynthe eau florale de rose

Hi guys! I reviewed a few Maison Jacynthe makeup items a few weeks ago and today I’ve got a skincare item that they also sent to me for review. It is their lovely Eau Florale de Rose, or in English… Rose water! What drew me to this item is that I don’t really have any facial mists that I use and I enjoy trying out new things. So, let’s take a look at this Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose!

First off, I love the smell of this product. It truly smells like beautiful roses. Maison Jacynthe Eau Florale de Rose brings back wonderful memories of my childhood. We had a rose bush in my backyard and I loved to pick the pedals and put them in water to make my own “perfume”. When I spritz this on my face, I feel like I’m being transported back in time. November Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

november-favourites

Hi guys! November was such a busy, but such a wonderful month! I turned 27, I went to three amazing concerts and of course, there was the Sephora VIB sale! I’m quite sad to see this November go, but at least it’s time to chat about the products that knocked my socks off this month. I feel like this month brought along a lot of “instant favourites”. As you will notice through reading this post, it is very makeup-heavy… as in… all makeup.

Makeup

Anastasia Beverly Hills | Liquid Lipstick in Crush

anastasia-beverly-hills-crush

I usually like owning an item for an entire month before I call it a favourite, but I’ve been wearing this shade almost every day since it arrived as part of my VIB sale haul. I just love the shade so much and the wear-time is pretty fantastic! It survived eating greasy, cheesy jalapeno poppers so that’s at least an “A” in my books!

Maison Jacynthe | Blush in Romeo

maison-jacynthe-blush-01-romeo

I talked about this blush when I did my post on Maison Jacynthe and out of all the products mentioned in that post, this one was a cut above the rest in my opinion. I love how pigmented this blush is, while still being incredibly blendable. Continue reading

October Favourites: Makeup, Skincare & More!

October Favourites

Hi guys! I feel like October started out slow and then once we hit the half-way point the rest just vanished.  How it is October Favourites time already? Though I don’t appreciate the weather getting colder, October is a beautiful month. The leaves have changed colours and have fallen and it ends with my favourite holiday, Halloween! This was definitely a month where I reached for certain products constantly so more so than ever, these products are well-loved favourites.

Makeup

Kat Von D | MetalMatte Palette

kat-von-d-metal-matte-inside

This shouldn’t come as a surprise as I’ve already posted about this palette twice (here and here) this month. I just love the wide array of colours, the quality of the eye shadows and just how much it inspires me every time I reach for it.

Lorac | Pro 2 Palette

Version 2

When I wasn’t wearing the Kat Von D MetalMatte Palette, this is what I had on my eyes. I should have included this in my September favourites, but I forgot to, but I’ve been wearing this pretty regularly for the last couple of months. Again, great quality eye shadows and I really enjoy the colour selection. I’ve done two looks with this palette for the blog and I’ve also previously swatched it. Continue reading
