Hi guys! With spring making it’s way into Thunder Bay, I’ve been really inspired to start blogging about my favourite products for the season. Since spring is pretty much a gateway to summer, I start busting out the bright colours on a regular basis. I don’t really believe in seasonal colours, but I think the nicer weather makes me feel more bright and cheery and then this in turn is reflected in my overall style.
Nars | Audacious Lipstick in Angela
I’ve had Angela for a couple of years now and I always seem to bust her out when spring starts up. The pink orchid shade really reminds me of fresh flowers starting to bloom! Though we don’t have a lot of that going on right now in Thunder Bay (thank you epic April ice storm), I’m hopeful we will start seeing some blossoms soon! The Audacious Lipstick formula pigmented demi-matte formula that I find wears really well on the lips.
Urban Decay | Afterglow Blush in Quickie
Quickie is a relatively new blush to my collection but I purchased it during the VIB sale specifically for the spring and summer seasons. It adds such a lovely pop of colour to the cheeks and goes well with both a full face of makeup or something very minimal. The Afterglow Blush formula is definitely a favourite of mine as it is pigmented, blends like a dream and lasts throughout the day.
Laura Gellar | Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Charming Pink
For me, a light pink highlight is essential for both the spring and summer seasons. Though I wear Charming Pink all year round, I find myself starting to reach for it more as the weather gets nicer. It is pigmented but yet doesn’t look too intense on the face. It nicely blends in as a beautiful pop of shimmer as it transitions into my blush.
Too Faced | Sweet Peach Palette
I can tell already that the Sweet Peach Palette is going to be a spring and summer staple in my makeup rotation. The beautiful juicy pink shades just seem to fit the bill for what I want all over my eyes as the sun shines longer and the grass gets greener. I also tend to wear more neutral and minimal looks regularly during this time of the year so this palette checks off that box as well. I did a full review on this palette earlier this year which you can find here!
Essence | The Gel Nail Polish in Play With My Mint
Play With My Mint is such a perfect shade for the spring/summer season. The beautiful mint shade looks beautiful both on the fingers and toes! I never really liked blue or green shades on the toes until this polish came into my life last year. The wear time on it is also pretty impressive, and even better on the toes! I featured this nail polish in a Mani Monday last year!
