A Week of the Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette

Hi guys! While I posted my first impressions of the Morphe’s collaboration with YouTuber, Jaclyn Hill, over the weekend, I thought today I would share with you five different looks that I created using it. There’s definitely many, many different possibilities with this palette but these are the first five that I created! I still have many more that I want to create but if I kept going this post would never go up.

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Hi guys! Between wearing more sunscreen, going on hikes and having minimal skincare at the cottage, my skin has been in definite need for a detoxification. The Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment which we will be taking a look at today is meant to visibly clear the complexion. It can be used for all skin types to address oiliness, acne/blemishes and to clear pores. The activated charcoal with it’s Pore-Matrix technology reveals dots of vacuum extractions lifts away dirt and other debris that may be clogging your pores. The result is said to be a more healthy looking complexion.

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment

The first thing I noticed when applying this mask was the slightly minty scent that it has. Upon application my skin felt a little cold and refreshed. Perfect for a hot summer day! As it dried, while I couldn’t speak without cracking the mask, it also did not feel too tight. As it dried it started to change colour, and the Pore-Matrix technology started to reveal the dots of vacuum extractions. Gross in theory, kind of neat to look at though! There were some larger pieces of charcoal in the mask which is what the large black pieces are in the photos below. Continue reading

The Jaclyn Hill Palette: First Impressions

Morphe x The Jaclyn Hill Palette

Hi guys! Today we will be looking at the the Jaclyn Hill Palette by Morphe. This palette has been in the works for quite some time now and after so many teases and sneak peaks, I’m so excited to have it in my hands now. Jaclyn Hill had been working on this palette with Morphe to get it to her liking for a couple of years. I’ve had this palette for a couple weeks now but between being out of town and have several makeup free days, I’m only starting to test it out now. So today I have some swatches and first impressions for you. I will start posting the makeup looks that I have been putting together very soon!

Morphe x The Jaclyn Hill Palette

The Jaclyn Hill Palette leans mostly warm but it does have some cool shades as well as some pops of colour. I think for the most part it is pretty well-rounded and has everything you need to do several completed makeup looks. Each shadow I’ve used so far performs excellently. I have found though that some of the more metallic shades do apply better with your fingers compared to using a brush. Continue reading

Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara

Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara

Hi guys! Influenster recently sent me the Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara complimentary for review as part of a recent campaign. Since I loved the last Revlon mascara that I tried, I was really excited when I saw I was selected to participate. The Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara is a tubing mascara that deposits fibres around your lashes for volume and length. Based on it’s description alone I was quite optimistic for this one (unlike the last mascara that I reviewed!).

Revlon Mega Multiplier Mascara

The brush on this mascara is fairly average in size and tapers a bit towards the tip to make it super easy to use. If I can manage to not get mascara all over my under eye area when coating my bottom lashes then I call it a success! The flat style of the tube is nice as well as it doesn’t feel bulky in the hands and can be maneuvered easily. Also, since it doesn’t roll it is GREAT for photographing (blogger problems, am I right?!). Continue reading

I’ve been putting together these looks for a few weeks so as you can see in the post, my hair colour changes mid-way. Sephora Thunder Bay Preview Night

Sephora Thunder Bay

Hi guys! Earlier this week, I wrote a post in anticipation of the opening of Sephora Thunder Bay and I’m excited to now share with you my experience at the Preview Night which occurred the evening before the official opening. The opening of Thunder Bay’s very own Sephora in our Intercity Shopping Centre has been something I’ve dreamed of but never really thought would actually happen, but we’re here! It turns out, our region has a very high number of online sales which is what helped bring Sephora to our beautiful city. I was very thankful to receive an invitation to the Preview Night both as a VIB Rouge member and also as a beauty blogger. Continue reading

Ulta Haul!

Ulta Haul

Hi guys! I went to the States last weekend so as always, it had to include a trip to Ulta in Duluth, MN! Oh Ulta, how I wish you had a few stores in Canada… What I love about Ulta is that it’s the best of Sephora, Shopper’s Drugmart and Chatters all rolled into one wonderful place! I could spend an entire day getting lost in there… but I controlled myself and managed to spend probably less than an hour there before we got back in the car and continued on the road to Minneapolis. It also happened to be the last day of a 20% off promotion so it was definitely a great time to stop there!

Let’s take a look at what I grabbed…

Makeup Revolution | Unicorns Unite Salvation Eyeshadow Palette

I didn’t originally have this on my shopping list but since they didn’t have the unicorn highlighter that I had my eye on, and I had unicorns on the brain, I decided to pick this up. Plus, there was a buy 2, get 1 free deal going on with Makeup Revolution. The colours in this palette jumped out at me as they look fun for summer so I’m excited to see how this inexpensive palette works out. I haven’t even touched or swatched any of this yet, as soon as I got back from the States I went out to the cottage. Continue reading

June Favourites

Hi guys! I feel like I might as well just stop keeping track of each month this year because they seem to be blowing by faster than I can count. I could have sworn June had just started but here we are ready to welcome July! This summer is going to be a busy one so I feel like it’s going to fly by even faster.

Morphe | 35O Palette

Morphe 35O

In anticipation of Jaclyn Hill’s collaboration with Morphe, I became inspired to bust out my 35O Palette which I realized failed to make much of an appearance here on the blog! If you love warm eye shadows like I do, this palette is a must. It is so reasonably priced for 35 quality eye shadows! Also, you can find Morphe products in Showcase stores if you have one near you. I picked mine up from my local store. I posted a look using this palette earlier this month!

Urban Decay | Naked Heat Palette

Urban Decay Naked Heat

Yes, I just got this palette a couple of weeks ago but, I have been using it every single day since. Similar to the Morphe 35O Palette, the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette is warm toned as the name suggests. I have been absolutely obsessed with it. It doesn’t have as much variety as the Morphe 35O, however, what it lacks in variety, it makes up for in that it has the same quality one expects from a Naked Palette. I would say quality-wise it is a few notches above the Morphe 35O, but either would be great if you are looking for a warm toned palette. I posted my first impressions and swatches last week and stay tuned for a mega-post full of different eye looks using this beauty! Continue reading
